The Tenn game was a perfect example with all of their stunting a blitz schemes. LSU offense looked unprepared for that!

We moved the ball pretty dang well in the first half.

To your point though we were missing our starting left tackle in that game.

A guy who proved to be a massive key for the team for the season as a whole

Also Denbrock and Kelly want to fit players to their scheme and not scheme for the best players... Luckly their scheme is good for 9 to 10 wins most years with LSU talent.

This is a good example of someone talking out of their rear end just to take a shot at our coaching staff. You have no clue what you’re talking about.

Or did he overestimate the talent of his players?

In his first year on a decimated team?

Yes but don’t you dare criticize a recruit headed to bama or who’s family trolls the board nonstop bc that’s not ok

I’m surprised he admitted that but outside of a few calls here or there Denbrock did a good job. Obviously he can improve and our QB needs to improve as well. An improved OL and better TE’s will make us more explosive if JD can get comfortable throwing downfield. Denbrock is right about protections though. We got beat a lot early in the season by not picking up blitzes in our pass protection.

Unless they did something not shown all year on tape, you shouldn’t be surprised.

If you listen closely to his press conference, he was surprised at how hard you had to prepare for every team. I actually expected this with Denbrock not having faced this much talent at Cincy every week.

I'm not sure if this is encouraging or disappointing.

How many schools out there would hire Denbrock as their OC specifically in the Sec? There's a reason he got demoted at ND

sounds like he is admitting he was under qualified for the job or whoever hired him was

To be fair, there aren’t many in the SEC right now that I would hire from another team.

Coming from Cincinnati and ND, I actually expected this to be a learning experience for Denbrock. The amount of talented DE’s and defensive coaches you must face and prepare for every week was going to be a learning experience for someone up north.

Maybe I'm reading too much into his words, but I don't like the impression that our OC has been getting outworked by conference programs.

Daniels is returning because his draft stock sucks.

His draft stock is about the same as Burrow’s was after his fourth season, so yeah, both guys came back to improve it.

Does that mean every player returning is in same position?

That’s rookie BS. Should never happen with experienced coaches like him and CBK. We saw way too much unpreparedness out of this coaching staff for what was supposed to be “upper crust” coaching cadre.
