DDS (Danielson Derangement Syndrome)

I just rewatched the entire Bama game with the express intent of paying close attention to the supposed massive anti-LSU (and pro-Bama) Danielson and CBS bias.
Here's the verdict: anyone who thinks that is FOS.
Really, the worst thing I can say is that he mispronounced Ensminger twice. If you insist on being butthurt about that, then that's on you.
Gary and Nessler absolutely RAVED about Joe Burrow and CEH for the entire gottdamn game. They gushed over Orgeron as well.
It's true, CBS' analysis on the Moss catch was kind of lame...but Nessler came out early in the 3rd to set the record straight saying that they did not have the information that the ref had ruled on the field that he was pushed out. Essentially, they owned up and moved on.
They persistently looked for Joe Burrow's "Heisman moment". Gary kept going back to the well to talk about the fake QB draw Burrow perfectly executed on 1st down on the last scoring drive. He was absolutely tickled at how tricky and inventive it was.
They perfectly described CEH's struggle as a smaller player and waxed poetic over his accomplishments. And Nessler did a great job describing the scene when Clyde broke down and cried in his coach's shoulder.
And, oh yeah - they said some good things about Tua. The horror.
Someone had complained that in the final minute, they covered all of LSU's celebrations with a screen about Bama still being able to make the playoff. a)it was a very relevant thing to talk about b)it didn't last long at all and they perfectly covered the final 2 snaps of the game and the postgame celebration.
Take off the P&G glasses and just enjoy 2 pros calling the best damn game of the season.

He’s a smug annoying bama rider who isn’t great at his job.

Re "bama rider" - in this very game, PI was called on LSU on a big 3rd and 10 stop. They watched the replay in slo mo and Danielson was like "eh, that's not a good call". Later on, Flott broke up a pass and no PI was called. The replay showed he really probably was interfering, and Danielson brushed right past it.
Lots of examples like this. I just don't understand why people expect him not to notice the quality of THE football dynasty of the past 25 years. Bama has been great. I hate it, but it is what it is.
When they talked about Joe Burrow's decision to come to LSU, Gary said something like "I was puzzled at the time - LSU is where QBs go to DIE!". Might be harsh, but it simply has been basically true. He then went on to say that Joe Burrow and his coaches have flipped the script to great effect.
I do think he was completely wearied by Les Miles' monkey shines. Who wouldn't have been? That shite was a blight.

It's because fans hear what they want to hear. It really subconsciously unless someone tries to change it.
Bama fans hate him and think he is a Bama hater, as fans we tend to dwell on people being negative for some reason.

It’s funny that there’s an argument that the best in the business actually sucks.

Who is the black gentleman on ESPN that survived cancer and is really soft spoken? I like him too.

Stfu, Gary.
He kept negging the Tigers the entire damn game. So many back-handed compliments.
He does this shite even when Bama isn’t playing.
Honestly, if you can’t pick up on his subtle and not-so subtle jabs, you’re more than likely an idiot.

Gary has fantasies about Saban and Kirby. The man would cheat on his wife in a 3 some with them.

The same idiots that say he is a Bama homer said the same thing about Verne Lindquist. Stop drinking during the game, because it isn't true!

Lol you wrote all of that shite to defend Gary? You’re a clown

Let's lose our stuff over what some guy on TV said.
Just watch the games and cheer for your team. What a thought.

While I have no issues with Gary, I can't gloss over this gem
Where were you when LSU was beating Bamas arse regularly just 11 to 18 years ago? I haven't double checked dates but I believe LSU has a 5-0 run at some point there. Bama has been dominant since about 09' before that LSU and UF ran the SEC in the early 2000's.

I don’t have a problem with GD. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with CBS games.
They take too god damn long

I believe Gary really just didn't like Miles' style of football. Posters regularly bash Gary, yet there would be 200 posts on the scoreboard forum centered around negativity.

I just don’t like the sound of his high pitched voice.

One thing that I do notice about Gary posts is that the up votes generally equal to the downvotes, no matter if the OP is pro Gary or not.
I think that speaks to the fact that he has the type of personality that is polarizing. You either love him or you hate him.
I personally hate him but it's a nice hate to have given this is the SEC championship. I might even turn him off mute for a little while.

You are absolutely correct, and I’ve been saying this for years. Danielson praises the praiseworthy and calls it like it is. LSU homers have not liked the way he has continuously praised Bama for the last 8 years, but Bama has been praiseworthy - it’s as simple as that.
If Bama starts going 8-4 for a couple of years in a row Bama fans are going to claim that Danielson is an LSU homer. It ain’t Danielson; it’s homerism among LSU fans.
