Not starting doesn’t me he isn’t playing

LSU has a ton of talent that will be rotating on and off the field. This is a good thing

Keys was closer to Greg Penn last year than he was Devin White

I expect Keys will be playing more than West by midseason.

If i remember correctly, last year Keys played next to Penn and Whit.

West is taking Penn’s position, which is different and not interchangeable

You're correct. Keys played the "star" position. West is stepping in to play Penn's position. Keys is getting pushed back to the bench by Perkins

Nope

Keys played LB only. About half the games played we started 3 LBs. South Carolina and UCLA when they went Penn/ Perk/ Whit (Whit's first couple starts), and then from UF thru the end of the year when it was Penn/ Whit/ Keys.

Keys may have swapped out with the Star some, but they had different responsibilities.

Yes, very much agree. TD has this weird obsession with all Weeks brothers starting, but you play the best players. Simple as that.

Keys:
2 Sacks, 1 Pick 6, 1 FR, 3 PDs, more tackles per game

West:
0 sacks, 0 INTs, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 PDs, less tackles per game played

It is clear Keys is better than West and should be the starting linebacker.

Keys will get a lot of playing time. He will be rotating in.

I personally agree with you. I think Keys will be starting before it’s all said and done. Reminds me of the Les miles senior over the more talented sophomore.

I will say Keys & West are both better than Penn.

Maybe. I hope so. I think Keys likely will be if he’s not already. Greg Penn was consistently underrated by LSU fans. Solid player with a chance at making an NFL roster.

You must have missed the part where I said when West was 100% healthy, which he wasn't down the stretch.

West looked below average vs the run and pass. He’s never looked as good as his younger brother since he’s been at LSU. Maybe there’s been a break through this off-season, but West hasn’t been impressive.

Keys is not very big. If we're going into SEC play with him starting, we're in trouble. The refs were bigger than him in the games that I went to.

My guess is that we have enough killers on the defense that they want to have the West brother synergy in the middle to communicate with the rest of the defense. A big part of defense is diagnosing the play, recognizing things from film and getting into alignment. That's West Weeks job. He is also good in run support.

Get everyone lined up and let the talent/speed from the other 10 guys take over.

Keys is 230, in comparison Whit is 225. I doubt its a weight or strength issue.

His LSU bio says he is 6’0” and 230#. That’s plenty big enough if it’s true. They usually lie about the height, so it would not surprise me if he was 5’ 10”, but that’s plenty big enough. Just ask Sam Mills.

You know west was 100% for the bowl game and keys played more snaps than him even then?
