Well the telegraph beat his team, so there is that to look at.

Just because he isn't articulate doesn't mean he's not a great coach. And I don't recall him ever saying that he thought he was a "genius." That being said, however, I think he's much more suited to being a DC than a head coach. Hated to see him leave LSU, but more money, trying to move up. Can't blame him for that.

We throw up 44 on the Rants favorite “brilliant” Defensive Coach with a new, very young Oline and the Rant idiots want to fire the OC and QB who led it. Nothing ever changes. LOL!

Most high iq people are not good with public speaking. That is a fact.

Aranda pretty tells you how bad of an OC Sloan is that we complain about on here. He flat out said it right here they telegraph what they do and everyone knows it.

Hmmm....418 total yards and 30 offensive points (shoulda been 37 if Nuss throws to the open Hilton in the end zone on third down before the blocked field goal oh and the pass before that shoulda been caught for a TD).....not bad for telegraphing everything and having a makeshift offensive line and without two of your leading receivers from the regular season.

He should worry about his own offense that kept trying to run the ball in curious situations when we could not cover their receivers all day.

Without superior talent

Where is the superior talent? OL,? WR? RB? We haven't been able to run the ball and gain one yard, time after time, in crunch time.

Sloan has turned two QB prospects into first round NFL draft choices.

No one in LSU history has accomplished that.

He was an OK Def C, but not HC material.

44 points was the most scored against Baylor this season.

Aranda punted from the 30 one time

bullshite! You doctored that photo! No way he punted from the 30 in the middle of the first half.

He did that in 2020. I think his kicker was really bad beyond 40 yards (ended the season 3 of 8 from 40-49), so a 47 yarder was probably 50/50 at best.

Which TWO QB prospects you speak of? Sloan was not here for Burrow.

You obviously prefer symbolism over substance. I prefer results on the field. Aranda gets results. He is a damn fine coach. Baylor will not get the athletes Texas and Texas A&M get. Baylor is a private school with high academic standards.

Why is everyone calling out the OC, Sloan? Are they the basic fan that only thinks the game is played on offense? LSU finished 1st overall offense last year with him and Top 25 this year. Highly likely to be top 10 with Nuss and great WR transfers and current WRs.

Who was the OC last year?

The OC last year was Denbrock. Sloan was not calling plays last year. Did he have an input in the game planning, yes. But Denbrock was the brains of the offense last year.

If we could play big 12 teams all year we'd be golden, huh?

Well....those numbers with a fairly significantly depleted roster on offense and apparently, I'm told, one in which a defense at their full strength knew what was coming every time - I guess you gotta give at least some begrudging credit - No! None?

I was more disappointed this game with the defense. Not this season mind you, but this game. Thank goodness Baylor's OC went brain dead a few times and their QB was very inconsistent with his accuracy.

Did you even watch that presser to hear Aranda speaking about that one play, smart-arse?

I did not, but it was insinuated in this thread as to his comment on that one play, and several people rolled with that narrative that I commented in relation to, whether Aranda meant as much or not, that Baylor and everyone else knew what was coming pretty much every play.

That's all - did not realize I was being a smart arse, my apologies sir. Though the cutesy "huh?" that I posted most directly in response to, might be misinterpreted by some as a bit in that vein...not by me of course :)

It was 1 play. Aranda said we only ran 1 specific route out of that 1 formation.

If he knew it, you can bet every DC in the SEC knew it by the time we started conference play.

Our red zone offense was dogshit this year.

Linguistics and its mastery is most definitely an indicator of intelligence…and describe to me precisely which “results” you speak of….I’m not sure I see what you are observing

I always said even when he was at LSU he's not HC material but he's a damn fine DC. It's no shame to say some people can't be HCs. It's not that they're bad there's a lot of skills you need. Aranda never struck me as the person who had the personality to be a HC.
I also said the exact same thing when Aranda was DC here.
