He mentions Bob Diaco is expected to coach inside LB’s next season which is House’s current position group. Seems like this all but assures House will not be here next year.
What? You get that from someone shifting responsibilities around? To me that means House is staying and just focusing on being OC. Everyone knows is we get a new DC they will want to bring new DC staff in anyway, so why shift them around?

If this is true, to me this is bad news.

He isn’t going to be a coordinator only and not have a position group. What’s he going to coach if it isn’t ILB’s?

DL? Idk, I'm just saying that to assume House is out because Diaco will take over coaching IL is a stretch. If House is gone the odds are so is Diaco. A new DC will want to hire his own position coaches.

Small rumblings about BK to Ann Arbor???
LSU with their defensive issues and JD walking away with the Heisman along with many portal players spells big trouble next year. It’s going to be a rebuilding year that requires recruiting at a very high level and address the coaching staff. Tx and.OKLA joining the party is another issue as well. The Oline should be pretty good.

doesn't sound like House is on the way out
House is responsible for the absolute disaster this season with the defense. There can be no disputing this, period. Position coaches are next in line for the blame. Players are third for fault. Dismissal from responsibilities needs to occur in that order.

I fully support Brian Kelly and trust that he will do the right thing. If he does not, I will not support him when his head goes on the block for not doing his job.

BK has done a good job so far, but keeping House will get him fired.

Correct, which could mean that House focuses only on coordinator duties, Diaco is linebackers, and both defensive backs coaches are fired and replaced with a single defensive backs coach.

That wouldn’t be necessary. Diaco was already an on-field coach for OLBs and special teams. If he took over ILBs, it wouldn’t change the number of on-field coaches.

You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about if you don't think this defense had major attrition and personnel issues all season completely out of Matt House's control.

A lot of people here still fail to understand how talent/depth deficient this defense was and still expect the same defense as always.

BK's head is safe until Year 8 on this 10 year powerball gift from our Fat Boy AD. LSU cannot afford to do anything even if BK tanked into several losing seasons in a row.

BK doesn't want to openly fire. He quietly tells the person to find another job and then they will be let go to let them save face (Pollian). Now that the season is over, Assistant Coaching Carossell will be in full swing.

I heard this weekend Kelly wants Diaco as the DC. Hope my guy is wrong but we will see. Diaco was Kelly’s DC at ND from 2010-2013.

Diaco was a very good DC under Kelly before, winning the Broyles award. Looking at his time after ND and failing the UConn HC job, seems he took jobs with failing head coaches and was let go when they were (Oklahoma and Nebraska). Had Perdue defense ranked 56 in country when fired by Brohm. Wouldnt be a flashy hire but wouldnt be the worst either. We could do better tho.
