I’m puzzled by fisher’s results
The guy can flat out coach. He’s smart, . Has a photo graphic memory, knows talent, and manages well. Couple all of that with an almost bottom less financial bucket to recruit players in a state loaded with talent and results should be overwhelmingly positive.
Watching him lose yesterday was just bizarre

I hear you.
He can coach but then has head scratchers when his team looks lost. He is missing something. I don’t know exactly what but his teams never look whole. FSU managed to do it but with a few super talents and solid elsewhere. They were not clearly better than everyone though.

Are they? Or are they saving that money for the enormity of the cost to buy Jimbo out and pay for a new top tier coach
It doesn't matter why they do it. They will starve Jimbo of resources, buy his "ranch" & then fire him while he's eating lunch.

Please post this on SECR for the lulz

Brian Kelly will prove to be a fraud as well

I live in Aggie country. They claim he has too much control over offense.
A&M has all the qualities of a cult and like all cults when things are going well, the Leader is worshipped and can do no wrong but when things start to go south it is Jim Jones time. (some of you are probably not old enough to get that reference)

And save for two seasons at Florida State when Fisher had Jameis Winston playing quarterback and one of the most talented rosters in the history of college football, he’s a three- or four-loss coach.
I'm happy to shite on A&M and Fisher. But let's be accurate. Jimbo has 5 top ten finishes and only two of them had Jameis on the team. And regarding the "one of the most talented rosters in the history of college football" comment, Jimbo assembled that talent. You can't make that sound like a negative. For all of Les Miles' dumb shite, he brought talent to LSU. He fricked up on game day and couldn't develop a QB to save his safe, but he still recruited well and kept the roster loaded.

Jimbo didn't rob anyone. Scott Woodward wrote the check, Jimbo, like everyone else, would have been a fool to turn it down.

They will give him this year as they are all freshmen. I'll be most curious to see if they open the pocketbooks again for this recruiting class.
Hasn't A&M had a top 5 or so recruiting class 3 out of the past 4 years? His current roster should be stacked with 3 & 4 year talent.

I’ve always thought fisher was overrated. So glad Woodward didn’t hire that bum

I’m of the same belief despite it not being a popular opinion.
We’re busy laughing at Napier for choking away that game w/UK yet they were a ranked team. This board will always be “one moar year! He has to get his players in!” Meanwhile Lincoln Riley will be not only win their conference but be in the CFP….in a different school. Wish our fans were more realistic on this board but sadly many have reality issues.

Well obviously the jury is still out on Kelly but as far as Riley is concerned he’s use to making the college football playoffs by being in a weaker conference. Then he typically shits the bed. LSU has been in the toughest division of college football

Honestly, it’s apparent that it’s an a&m thing more so than a coaching thing. That culture sucks and even if/when they lure in recruits, once there, they’re likely waiting to get out.

Fisher had the luxury for a little while of blaming his predecessor, Kevin Sumlin, for lackluster results. But by the time you get to Year 5, you’re not rebuilding anymore. The program is supposed to be humming by now. Instead, Texas A&M looks to be once again in the muck of mediocrity after a 17-14 loss at home to Appalachian State.

Dan Wolken: Jimbo Fisher continues to rob Texas A&M in broad daylight
what is even the point of writing about it, its fully guaranteed contract so there is no way out and it is what it is

Fisher's record since Jameis Winston left Florida State says all you need to know about the overrated windbag.
He was 14-10 in the ACC before he raced out the door at FSU, one step ahead of being fired.
And he is 21-12 in SEC...13-11 if you don't count that mishmash Covid season.
Is he a good coach? Yeah, probably. But is he a championship coach? I wouldn't spend $75 million (which Woodward did) to find out he isn't.
A&M is a weird and unique place. Whoever called them a cult picked the right word. The whole campus -- which looks like a military installation -- is filled with statues and monuments to dead Aggies.
Most of all, A&M hasn't won a football national championship since 1939! They never have figured it out, going through the likes of Jackie Sherrill, R.C. Slocum, Dennis Franchione, Mike Sherman, Kevin Sumlin, etc.
They think they finally found a loophole in NIL.
Well, we'll see.
