Did he REALLY recruit him or bought him? Learn your freaking history. I KNOW

Ron Abernathy was Dale’s recruiter. And I’m so sick of seeing that POS Collis Temple associated w/ LSU in ANY capacity. He’s half the problem. DumBel’s appointment of him was payoff for getting the black vote harvesting machine in NBR to sway his way in 2019.

We have Skip Bertman Field at Alex Box Stadium.

We have Dale Brown Court in the PMAC.

One gentleman was an elite coach and he won numerous national championships. The other was a very good coach who won numerous SEC championships.

There’s a huge difference. For political reasons now we are fighting over naming the basket ball court when reality no one haz measured up to what Skip did.

Rupp Arena, The Summit at Thompson Boling, and Skip Bertman Field are all worthy. Dale Brown court nor Sue Gunter court do not measure up.

IMO, Sue Gunter was not a good enough HC at LSU to warrant naming anything after her. She was almost fired and had to hire Bob Starkey as her chief asst and Pokey Chapman as her recruiter to keep her job. Her success those last 2 seasons was based primarily on the work/efforts of Chapman and Starkey.

1991-91 Gunter's team went 24-7 overall with a 4-5 conference record.

I'm a dale Brown fan in that he provided a lot of excitement when I was at LSU but I don't really care if they name the court after him. He had a great run but never won a championship and didn't do anything that a lot of other coaches do at other schools. Win a conference championship here or there and get to the final four a couple of times. You win multiple NC's then I'll listen and don't really care about women's bball. Yes Mulkey is a great coach and so was Gunter but cmon. It's women's bball. It's the PMAC. get over it.

Dale took a long time joke of a men’s basketball program and at least made it into a winning program during his tenure.

John Brady did just as much with less.

is in the NAISMITH Hall of Fame, Dale will never be.

That really doesn’t mean much, there are way more coaches in the HoF than there are great coaches.

Hell Van Chancellor is in the HoF and went to the final 4. Where are all of his supporters to get his name on the court?

Seems you are missing the point. They already named the court after Dale Brown.

Brady went to 1 final four, Brown went to 2. Brown on SEC regular season title 4 times, Brady did it twice. But yeah, Brady did more with less than Brown did. Makes perfect sense.

Dale was the coach for 25 years
Brady was the coach for 11 years

Matt McMahon could have walked into a sec championship with Shaq, CJ, and Stanley.

So, we should remove skip’s name off of baseball field. Not hardly. You are dumb on this angle.

Daddy Dale did a great job in getting John Williams from California to come here. No funny business went on there.

I heard they are planning to name the home team dugout after Paul Mainieri and the Lake Charles Golden Nugget pool after Coach O

Certainly, Tim knows what Dale did, in fact there's no doubt he did and does. So there's at least some hypocrisy there.

Reason No. 101 Timmy B has never been a favorite of mine.

Too bad Brady couldn’t control his a-hole’ism until later on in life. He was a damn good coach.

Hey - let’s name a court after a long time cheater. I bet that NOT A SINGLE season between 1977 and 1998, he didn’t have at least one player on his team where he didn’t cheat to get that player or keep him.
I know this personally. You can down vote all you want.
That is who got honored

I mean, do you think any of the big winning coaches in college basketball followed all of the NCAA's rules and didn't allow players to receive benefits?

Naming of courts is stupid to me, but Brown did turn a terrible program into a consistent winner, he had some great tournament runs, he created excitement and the Deaf Dome atmosphere, scheduled some monster games with the best programs that are still remembered today and marketed basketball in Louisiana in a way that hand't been done before or since. Those Super Dome games are proof of that since they remain 3 of the top 5 largest regular season crowds in NCAA history. He wasn't the best Xs and Os guy, but he did accomplish a lot even with his shortcomings.
