He just needs to retire. You can tell he’s set in his ways about the whole portal thing.

And there’s nothing wrong with retiring. The guy has had a hell of a coaching career and he’s still pretty young.

I dont understand why th AD doesnt force it. I understand the Dabo ideal and i can appreciate it and you want players coming to Clemson to be at Clemson and make that your unifying misssion.

Do they have an NIL budget? What is their method.
To me the AD should be gone for not forcing it onto Dabo. Are other sports using NIL at Clemson?

They are clearly afraid of change and are willing to fall further behind with each year that goes by.

More like Les Miles watching the game pass him by.

Of course they use NIL. They may not do it to the same extent as other high profile P4 schools, but you don't sign and retain 4* and 5* athletes these days with zero NIL. They are also required by law to participate in revenue sharing, most of which goes to football.

And then he was talking shite about Lane and how football is embarrassing.

I like Dabo. But he’s too opportunistic with the microphone and now less opportunistic on the field.

He really is going to ruin his legacy by not hanging it up.

He needs to retire and go coach high school football where it’s more pure.

Or go be a spot personality on gameday or something.

He’s this generations version of Les Miles. A good coach who brought his program to great heights. But a guy who got passed up because of his stubborn refusal to adapt to the ever changing landscape of the sport.

Perfect analogy. I understand him not liking the current cfb landscape, but refusing to retire or change philosophy is just stubborn and dumb.

Is this true? I hadn't heard that he refuses to use it.

They're talking out of both sides of their mouth. They're destroying him for not using it while still grandstanding that lsu has no morals and just threw some money around for a superteam and it's bad for the sport blah blah. Im watching Miami ohst and texas get praised for scrimmages but "lsu needs to calm down you only beat Clemson." Frick em all

Re-hiring Chad Morris as OC may be what finally sinks him at Clemson.

Or, Dabo and Clemson both know they dont have the NIL funding to compete so they are just trying to save face with this whole "holier than thou because we dont pay players" thing.

I mean, if you really think about it, it explains why he hasn't been fired yet. If the AD knows they dont have the boosters who are willing to pay up, might as well keep Dabo and hope the NCAA reigns it in.
