What are you talking about? Last week LSU was #1 in the D1 poll and will likely be #1 again tomorrow when they release the poll. I’m not sure where you are pulling dropping from 2 to 9 in whatever imaginary poll you are talking about.

Isn't the Automatic Bid for the SEC the SEC Tournament Champion, rather than the SEC Regular Season Champion? I'm asking because I just watched the D1 Baseball video in the above link and they have Texas bolded as the auto bid from the SEC. I thought that is what is meant when they say a team that is not on the radar can "steal a bid." Thanks!

Anyone who listened to artigues interview on d1 last week would come away thinking theyll use rpi as one metric, but they are using other things and eye test. He very much was in favor of the best teams being rewarded. I dont think lsu’s rpi will hurt them much at all. I think if it was getting set today, the committee would seed us about 4

Simply put, they dont spend alot of time on their projections. 1 hour for the entire field isnt very long compared to the committee meeting for hours and days

Correct, anywhere 4-6 is realistic.
For anyone thinking LSU needs to win a game Friday. That is a slippery slope, what if everyone around them wins? Do they now have to win another game?
The bottom line is that Oregon and Oregon St will not both get one. Florida St would need to win their tournament to be considered. There’s not really a log jam after that in my opinion.

Such a weird, weird stance. I don’t get paid for Twitter clicks. Obviously I can discuss more deeply on a two hour radio show than a message board post or a tweet. That’s pretty obvious. And it’s my main platform. I’m just here to discuss like everyone else.

D1 tends to overreact and I think there may be some merit to the thought that some of their content is intended to drive engagement rather than reflecting what they actually believe will happen. They probably weren’t in position for the #2 seed before this weekend and I doubt they are as low as #7 now. It’s more likely the went from #3 or #4 to #4-#6. UNC and Vandy did make a case to pass LSU.

RPI is such a terrible formula. I thought they've been trying to move away from the RPI rankings the past few years? Or was that just basketball?
LSU is 4th in ELO rankings. Were 1st in the polls heading into the weekend. And finished T3 in the SEC.
