That run of talent out of the Baton Rouge area was insane.

The New Orleans kids:Oubre,Augustin,Fox were ALL Katrina kids that moved to Texas!!

Oubre actually played on an AAU team based in N.O.La

There are at least 5 metro NOLA players @ D-1 schools that will have decent college careers...

As far as immediate help for LSU,the freshman @ SUNO has entered the transfer portal(encouraged by all his coaches)....
He already has D-1 offers including 3 SEC schools....

6'8 Conference Defensive POY,quick, great defender, good footwork finishes in traffic @ the rim, smooth stroke on his jumper with good range....nice handles

Im thinking he averaged 20ppg 14rpg 1 bpg....he did average a double double(my #s may be incorrect).....

All Conference

He will be an immediate difference maker.

Now do born and raised!!!

Thaddeus Sr left for college and pro ball and never lived in New Orleans again..

His son couldnt attend La high school..

Same with Jaren Jackson Jr..He attended school where his dad lived and traveled as a pro athlete...

Lets not act as if droughts dont exist elsewhere...
Everyone wont be a star at all 3 levels but contrary to what fans think; the last man on a NBA bench will destroy the fans that think they are scrubs...

LSU has dropped the ball on many in state kids in every decade starting in the 1970s!!

If the last Final Four team had a true pg to distribute and facilitate easier offense they wouldve won the title!

I know some of these players overlapped but the state had:: Francis Augustin,Paris,Tweety?

All 4 went out of state!!

The city of New Orleans had 2 for sure possibly 3 players that helped Sampson @ U of H start this present run!

Carver HS in NOLA has won 2 of 3 state titles..
Has LSU recruited them since letting Perry McDonald get away to Georgetown??

The top players from the former NOPS have went out of state the last 3 years...

Some talented La kids are being overlooked and/or not seriously recruited until its too late!!

Why do people keep bringing this guy up? He’s averaging 4ppg on 40% shooting as a 5th year player.

You think a D3 player has 3 SEC offers before the portal opens?

The period with Chris Duhon, Hollis Price, Torris Bright, Danny Granger, etc was some damn good basketball in LA.

but that was CMM's game plan last year. Would be our best insight for what's to come next year.

He can’t treat it like football. Needs to go searching elsewhere.

Nola.com runs a list of all the kids from the state that are in the Tourney this year, every year. Let's see what comes up from that list. The state does produce a lot of D1 bball talent.

There are no scrubs in the NBA. I'd take virtually any player with an NBA future that wants to play for LSU.

I don't think that's true. But football is the main sport for most of the exceptional athletes. If some of those guys focused on basketball, they could be college basketball players.
Take TH for example. When you evaluate his full game, he really is not that skilled. But he was able to make an impact this season with effort and athleticism. He has more of a football build. You could find a lot of guys like that in Louisiana, with probably even more skill upside than him.

They have some decent guard and wing type players but the size is nowhere to be found these days

LA has produced some underrated players, the guard Radford at Texas A&M has become a quality player and Aggies have gotten a few out of LA when they don't usually have to leave in state. Buzz Williams does have ties to LA when he coached at UNO briefly. Solomon Washington is a nice player as well from New Orleans. Wade didn't recruit Jordan Wright who ended up at Vandy before his one year at LSU and he may get a free agent tryout or go overseas for awhile if he wants to pursue that.

The Hudson kid from Ruston is a special talent. He’s only a freshman but he will be a top 100 player more than likely. Can y’all’s savior Matty Mac pull him in?

Yes!!! I KNOW!!!
Its not pro sports....

What can the NCAA do to a NAIA school???

All he has done is announce he is entering the portal...

Conversations are not illegal!!!

That is why alums, boosters, former players are on call!

He is a more talented version of a solid La NBA player,Earvin Johnson of UNO!!!

This isnt the 1950s!!
You have talent, you will be found no matter where you play!!

White of Boston is a perfect example but he is just 1 of many!!!

Avery Johnson from St.Aug is another !!

He has never played school ball.
There isnt an injury history,no wear and tear on his body!

The NCAA recruits and NBA drafts (yearly)foreign players very young as well as older!!!

Watch him play as many seasoned and experienced coaches have...

He isnt a 1 dimensional raw talent,he can play both ends of the court...

If he wasnt a baller not a single D-1 coach would be interested!!

But as always fans know more than people that evaluate, scout, recruit, coach for a living!!!!

Personally(i dont know him, only watched him play)i think, imho,he could and would be an instant and immediate upgrade to any D-1 team!!!

Including every La school with no exceptions!!
