Curious as to how Jay plays the ruling

I can’t imagine there aren’t at least a handful of quality players from the 2022 class just hanging out to dry right now in the minors who would love to jump on a possible 5th year.
I 100% see this at least being on his radar, however with baseball having a much tighter leash on rostering I’m curious as to the possibility given that any players would have to enroll for the spring and miss fall.

Why not just go after Acuna and Ohtani?
Probably allowable.
Probably allowable.

I'm sure he'll at least review the options but I have to believe he's pretty damn happy with what he has at this point

Well for one, they're over 23 and not part of the 2022 class. Are you just being stupid at this point?

No room on the limited roster. He won’t even sniff around

I guess I can see how a retard might come to that conclusion.

This is correct. He had to offload a player when Logan Schmidt decided to come to LSU instead of signing with Cleveland.

some of these fricks think that if the 2022 class is allowed to play then it means next year schools will have guys from the Dodgers playing

The roster limit is 34 and we had 5 players grandfathered in so we can have 39 and the roster is full. If a promising pitcher is floating out there I would expect a move, we have a “farm system” and have used it before.
If you haven’t noticed the LSU athletic department will “ push the limit” and will look at all avenues to improve rosters.

The roster is already stacked. Had to cut some loose already. I doubt it changes anything for Jay. He's got what he wants.

I don’t see this really affecting baseball near as much as other sports

Any baseball player in a position to come back for extra year probably isn’t worth much.

The current roster is at 40, I believe, which is allowed for Fall Ball.

The scholarship spots are all taken, not that that really matters anymore. And Jay does things his own way; I don't know if there is anyone available that is coming back that he would want. December 1st is when they have to lock in the 34-man active roster.

JAY farts in your general direction.

I don't know how much it applies for baseball. It's completely different than basketball and football. You can get drafted but turn down the contract and go back to college. In the NFL and NBA, you have to declare for the draft if you're not out of eligibility.

I remember reading this last year when LSU had the #1 class. How’d that go?
If you find a stud, you take ‘em regardless of current roster.

College baseball really can't compete with MLB salaries. Players in the minors are working the pecking order and likely wouldn't want to risk losing their slot or lose the developmental advantages. There could be some but it's very different than football. It's a farm system which the NFL doesn't have.

If a lawsuit is filed in Louisiana, it's pretty much 100% that the ruling will be in LSU's favor, so hell, why not?
