It really is obvious.. yes he can run but it's also his pocket awareness and movement is better.. his it Factor that Brennan doesn't have

MBs motion looks different to me. Its as if he's not using
his core muscles to the fullest extent. Maybe that injury is still affecting him.
Max looks more speed appropriate to the game.

Got 5 more months to figure it out.

I like them both but my gut says it’s Brennan.

so a coach shouldn't play his best guy for fear of injury???

What a terrible coaching philosophy.

No dummy. I’m saying Myles should wait patiently and shine when it’s his time. It’ll come.

Choosing a starting qb because he runs better is stupid and will not factor as much as you think.
Command of the offense. Accuracy with arm strength. Reading defensive pre snap, etc are what makes a team loaded with skilled talent special.
If Max's scrambling gets him on the field, it means we suck on the OL and won't do well this year anyway.

Mac Jones started at Bama in front of a MUCH more athletic backup. Why is that? For one, great OL

Don’t know.. IMO Max is the guy because of the playbook comment... if everything else is equal... Max ability to run is the difference maker. RPO threat does not exist with Brennan.

Because he's dropping bombs 50 yards down the field.

One thing he did not mention is seniority and currently I believe the coaches are taking that into consideration

If this is being considered, then our coaches are dumb.

FYI, the best WR on the team says Max will be the starter. He would know.

Terrible logic to claim Max's mobility makes him the clear #1. It is helpful to have a mobile QB, but last I checked the most important criteria for a QB is ability to pass the football. Accuracy, arm strength, reading defenses quickly, and leadership are key QB traits.

And let's be clear, Max isn't really a super mobile quarterback. He was more mobile than Finley but wasn't a real big threat to run. Wasn't Burrow.

I really miss Joe.

Answer>>>personnel. 2019 was pretty special because of pretty special personnel...including the all US offensive line.

Max can't read defenses? I seriously doubt that, especially if you mean pre-snap.

And if you mean post-snap Max is far ahead of Myles in terms of going through is progressions. In fact that is Max's strength as QB. You can tell he was coached on this probably his entire life by his dad. Just take a look at the spring game tape. Myles only scanned up to half the field a couple of times the entire game. Max however scanned the entire field several times. Max throws WRs open a lot better than Myles.

You do realize that a QB can make an OL look really good, right? When QBs leverage OL blocking like they are supposed to (like simply stepping up in the pocket) the OL looks good. However when QBs do things like continue to backpedal and get sacked the OL looks terrible. QBs with good pocket awareness know how to and instinctively leverage OL blocking.
