According to this Baylor's WBB program brought in over $7.5MM in revenue last year.
I have no reason to dispute that info.
However, it's also helpful to somewhat gauge the potential ROI of a highly paid WBB coach.
UConn is second on that list, generating just over $9 million in 2018. Their attendance that season was an avg. of 10k per home game. They also played in a few neutral site big games which I'm sure added additional revenue.
That year's UConn team went 36-1 (losing in the Final Four) ending a remarkable 111 game winning streak. Their HOF coach, Geno Auriemma, had a $2.4 million base salary that year.
YET, despite being 2nd in the nation in average attendance; being in the midst of the greatest winning streak of all time in the sport; looking for their 5th consecutive national championship; and playing in multiple revenue generating neural site made-for-tv games, the program STILL lost ~$3 million dollars.
It's nearly impossible to have more sustained success than the UConn's women's basketball program. Yet, even they operate at a big loss
It literally makes no financial sense WHATSOEVER for LSU to even remotely consider paying $2 million + for a WBB coach

Just for reference, in 2018 UConn's WBB program posted a LOSS of $3.1 million. I think we would all agree UConn is the best basketball program in the history of women's basketball and even it is posting a significant bottom line loss.
Could be wrong though

If we can sell 10K seats for gymnastics think of how a great women’s basketball team would do?
What was the attendance figures during the run if final 4s?

Baylor averaged 5,849 fans a game in the 17/18 season for 18 home games. The arena holds just over 10,200.
If Baylor counted 7.5 mill in revenues it had to be mostly from donations. TV is minuscule for WBB.
The linked article has Stanford revenues from WBB at over 21 million a year. It has to be donation, or foundation money.

The numbers aren't bearing that out. Either our numbers from when we were good, or the current numbers from Baylor or UConn.
But we're just looking at ROI based on ticket sales and concessions. What about increased sponsorship? People will jump on board with a winner.

Lester you’re about to lose your job.

I’m not going to fault compliance for enforcing them when LSU’s big 3 programs have been rather clean the last 2 decades.

My man, you are really showing your arse now.

I’m genuinely curious, how?

So the softball picture thing cost them 15% of their practice time over the course of the season. For going longer than 15 minutes to take a team picture.
And this is something to be celebrated for the compliance fricks? "Hey, we materially altered the chance of success over something that had no bearing on performance and otherwise would have never been found out. WE DID OUR JOB!"

Talking about compliance turning in the softball team last week for taking longer than 15 minutes to take a team picture.
Talking about compliance turning in the football program to the SEC when a backup QB picked up and put on a head set during the BYU game a few years back going over the 9 headsets allowed to be worn by coaches.
How do you become a compliance director? I’ll do that shite, start recruiting on Bamas level.

I have knowledge of this topic.
While I would agree the Compliance department may be "overzealous" in some areas, the fact that they are thorough and have kept LSU out of trouble is what they are here for.
Especially when you consider the extreme double standard that the SEC/NCAA has when it comes to catering to certain schools in specific sports.
PS - If you don't get what I am talking about, see what happened to Ole Miss after they beat Bama as opposed to how Bama "processed" LSU after losses in 2010 and 2011 regular season.
Bama had to take different steps to make LSUFootball's life more difficult (hint: bridge schedules, officiating, etc).
If you don't think this is how shite operates, then let's talk about Santa being real.

Why is this even an issue ?

Is this why you’ve been so unbearable? You’re locked in with the compliance department? Well seems like your buddies are a bit over zealous and yes by enforcing the rules.
All this time i thought you loved Joe but you’re just sticking up for an equally hated bunch lol.

It is an issue bc the NCAA is completely unreasonable with their rules.
The NCAA also has a HUGE double standard with how they treat certain programs.
LSU Softball, while respectable, isn't up to a level of that of a UCLA, ASU, Bama, OU, where they are above NCAA rules. Until LSU becomes a true Blue Blood in any sport besides baseball, the compliance department will be thorough.

If you don’t have a few folks defaulting your credit standards are too strict. However, if you’re trying to sell that we should be over the top about the rules and Bama will only beat us because of scheduling and refs. I mean what in the every loving hell is that??
You’re actually saying we either get beat by the refs or we’re Ole MIss.
Where you people come from??
By your logic we need to vacate our 03 and 07 Natty’s

Y’all remember the NCAA sanctions a couple years ago because our football program was 3 pages too long?
You can bet these people were behind that.

This compliance department clearly doesn't have a clue as to why they exist.

What kind of fricked up rule is this anyway?? Why is this even a rule?
I hope they fire every single fricker in compliance. Learn to code bitches!

Yeah, you missed my point completely.
I mean not even in the same galaxy.
Another good reminder of why I quit sharing what I know here years ago, and just stuck to mainly trolling.
