Why are they not proactively messaging their support of Wade and the purpose of the soepena?

That in of itself is digraceful and the silence says a lot about their POV on this.

I’m sure they’re as shocked as we are and need to get more information before making a statement.

Probably best that Alleva keeps his mouth shut.

If we had an AD with a better track record I’d trust him to make a strong statement.

I wonder how many potbellied SEC rednecks across the south have said and/or typed this word for the first time in their lives.

If anybody should know not to rush in front of the press and make hasty statements about mesdeeds of an athletics club member or members, it’d be Joe Alleva.

Silence is golden. Joe should know.

This information came out last October. LSU issued a statement then. The only new info today were more quotes on the recording.

Some of you don't pay attention.

LSU Admins need to stay out this publicly. Of course they talk to WW in private and give his support/help I hope.

Those quotes that came out today talk about Javonte Smart. Since he ended up at LSU that is a bit more troublesome for Wade and LSU. Much different than before.

There is nothing to comment on its rumor. When everything is brought to light and investigation is over then draw your conclusions quit talking about these writers fishing for your clicks and outrage

“I was thinking last night on this Smart thing,” Wade is heard saying on the wiretap. “I’ll be honest with you, I’m [expletive] tired of dealing with the thing. Like I’m just [expletive] sick of dealing with the [expletive]. Like, this should not be that [expletive] complicated.”

“Dude,” Wade continued to Dawkins, referring to the third party involved in the recruitment, “I went to him with a [expletive] strong-arse offer about a month ago. [Expletive] strong."

Now they can claim he was talking about something else but the NCAA will be looking into it all and it doesn't look good.

I’m not worried about it. If he’s proven anything in his career, we know that Joe Alleva will shine in times of national criticism.

I agree and hope not much comes of it but I think we all know he was talking about Javonte. Hopefully there is nothing else and no money trail.

While it seems that “money” would be the offer they were speaking of, how does anyone know it wasn’t something else like playing time, or a number of other things??

Hell of an offer (...) especially for a kid who is going to be a two- or three-year kid,” Wade said, an apparent reference to the fact that Smart — although a highly regarded prospect — was expected at the time to need at least two years in college before jumping into the NBA draft.
Wade joked to Dawkins in a separate phone call that the player would be compensated more than the “rookie minimum,” to ESPN, which said it independently confirmed the contents of the wiretapped phone call after Yahoo! Sports first reported its contents Thursday.

It doesn't look good. Hopefully there is nothing else. He's fine as of now. Just hope there is no real evidence of anything to prove Wade is guilty of major NCAA violations.

And Javonte Smart is the only person named Smart? Are you sure?
And since it was an audio recording how do you know the S was supposed to be capitalized?
Maybe it was, “I was thinking last night about this smart thing.” As opposed to “this dumb thing.”
