No doubt this has been a frustrating year especially with all the #1 pre-season rankings. But considering the pitching woes & how bad we looked as recently as last week I feel we can possibly host a regional now & maybe advance to a Super. That would turn out to be a not so bad ending as this is just not an Omaha team...

This is how you positive. No name-calling, no chest-beating, no “suck it haters.”

Good post.

Doesn’t disappointment at least imply a certain degree of failure?

let’s win today and see what happens in Hoover. I’m still behind this team, just like you.

On the whole we haven’t played to our potential this season. Disappointing would be a good way to put. But that doesn’t mean failure to me, at least not yet. The goal is Omaha. Until we fail to make it Omaha, I can’t say for sure whether or not the team has failed. I’m going to hold out hope until we are eliminated. Do I have tons of faith we can make a run? Not necessarily. But with the way Walker and Marceaux, plus Peterson and Hess, have been pitching and how the bats seem to be stepping up a bit, it also wouldn’t shock me.

You know what I find funny. You come into every thread that is positive and complain about people not complaining. When there are 50 threads wanting to fire everybody, saying this team will miss the regionals, you say nothing.

Perhaps you feel the same way as these people, but are smart enough to not say it and make yourself look as ignorant as them.

Did you intentionally misquote Mainieri?

What he said was, "I didn't know if we'd have another lead the whole weekend."

The difference is bigly. And I suspect you know that.

I think if I complain about anything it’s that the “positive” threads are really just complaining about negative ones. Name-calling, and not much else. Just a bump war. You’ll actually see in this very thread I’ve complimented truly positive posts. Example:
quote:

On the whole we haven’t played to our potential this season. Disappointing would be a good way to put. But that doesn’t mean failure to me, at least not yet. The goal is Omaha. Until we fail to make it Omaha, I can’t say for sure whether or not the team has failed. I’m going to hold out hope until we are eliminated. Do I have tons of faith we can make a run? ^^^this is a great post. This is not:
quote:

frick all negative little count pussies.

Plus, this wasn’t even a positive thread to begin with anyway. Show me one time I’ve shot down a positive thread that didn’t start with “frick you negative counts...” —there’s nothing positive about that, and if you see my response to them as “complaining” then so be it.

Since this was a reference to me, let me get this straight.

Still a fan, still love the team, still watch every game, but disappointed in season=moron?
