Being last in spending on NIL in basketball isn't an issue? LOL

Mcneese has been a doormat in a doormat league for a longtime. For them to all of the sudden be a dominant team in a league where it’s a tourney champ qualifier only is a giant leap. They just had to leap over the other slightly better doormats.
I think it’s hilarious to see the Macahon groupies distort everything to bash Wade.

Why is the man that is suppose to raise funds not taking heat for lack of funding?

They tried plenty, to no avail, up until the past few months. It took the SEC doing what they did for light bulbs to go on for donors to realize what LSU was spending wasn't good enough.

A competent athletic director and head coach would have been ahead of the game in funding the second biggest money maker in college athletics. It shows a lack of foresight and care about men's basketball. It also indicates a level of incompetence by the AD and head basketball coach.
The program will throw money at this coach until his buyout can be swallowed by his current supporters. He is not at the level needed to be in top third of sec each year.

Sounds like Scott who misjudged how NIL would turnout can’t raise funds like he was claimed to be able to do.
Perhaps he could get more funds if we had a non clown coach

You don’t remember our fancy NILSU ads, Scott claimed we were ahead of the game. As it turned out it was really just a hot gym chick and a girl basketball player inflating our nil and we were behind places like ole miss in it for our actual major sports. The only major coach that was ahead of it was JJ, which is no surprise.

McMahon definitely has his faults and room for blame, but I think that's much more largely on the shoulders of Woodward. He (the athletic department as a whole) did the same thing for football. Thought the "brand" would carry the product, and that just hasn't been the case, in either sport. It was a very poor misjudgment on his part.
I don't think it's a coincidence you're seeing drastically increased NIL buy in from both sports going into their next seasons. The issue with the basketball program is it doesn't carry nearly the weight a check from the LSU football program does. LSU football can go toe to toe with anyone, but LSU men's basketball will probably have to bid high on guys they want.

It’s def a lot on Scotty boy why our pants were down regarding NIL. However MM could have done better if he wasn’t the most boring person alive.
Despite Scott’s bad effort JJ has been able to get NIL funding for baseball.

Think 2 glaring problems people are missing….
1. Woodward did what’s best for lsu football
2. Year he has a chance to bring him back he doubles down on the unpopular coach verses the former and still popular coach.

The southland conference is a shite show, there aren’t too many good teams in the conference. There’s a couple teams that play in a bona fide high school gym.

lol. Contrary to the Wade frick boys’ fantasies, Scott Woodward is doing fine. He will be the AD at LSU until he says “I retire.”

Not if his $90 million football coach keeps missing the playoffs

Yes - If somehow McNeese wins a game or 2 and becomes the media darling of this tourney season then administration will likely crawl under a rock

The next shoe to drop.

quote:fair question. But, anyone who was a Will Wade supporter up to that point and understood how powerless the NCAA also was at that point, could see this is how it was going to play out. No one should be surprised by this, except I guess Woodward himself.
could this have blown up in Woodwards face anymore?

He may. NC State is a better basketball job than LSU and he’s a great coach. I’ll be pulling for him.
