Sloan had no chance last year with that OL and no QB. People blamed him for things that weren't his fault.

The shortcoming of his that can't be ignored was his absolute inability to implement a running scheme. That WAS his fault and was egregiously bad. And, with no OL or QB, not having a running game just made things even worse.

But, Stein fills the gaps Sloan had in the running game. As such, he's capable of being an effective playcaller.

Meh. Sloan has accomplishments as a QB coach. I think he's still unproven as an OC.

This team has some solid pieces and Stein in the big chair. They're not great at anything except not throwing picks and red zone percentage.

Kentucky isn't exactly lighting the world on fire offensively, and are worst in the entire country on 3rd down.

Their offense is average. Their QB is a good passer but that's all. "Killing it" is a very big over exaggeration.

Sloan sucks. He's a terrible game planner and play caller. Probably a good QB coach, though.

As many have said time and time again, it is Stein's offense. I'm sure it is also Stein who puts the game plan together and the play sheet. I thought someone noticed during the Bama game Stein had no play sheet, but next week at Aggy he did have one.

All that said, they are pretty pedestrian offensively if you look at the numbers. They have some bright spots, I think Minchey protects the ball well, but they are also atrociously bad on 3rd downs.

Do you think Brian Kelly was involved with any depth in any aspect of the LSU football program?

He collected paychecks and showed up when he had to.

2019 LSU was Joe Brady’s scheme but Ensminger still called some plays.

Careful. There is a cult on here that swears all of 2019 was because of Ensminger. Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Aranda, Brady....nope...just Ensminger.

I’m gonna guess it’s more Will Stein who’s behind the offense… the same guy who was Oregon’s OC for the last few yrs. But BK does suck, so who knows

Yeah, BK was phoning it in so much you know he let Sloan do what he wanted and you see what we got.

Sloans “success” this year is directly tied to Stein holding his hand

They've beaten A&M and South Carolina. This game will show how good of an OC he is.

LSU also doesn't have any stellar wins yet either.

I guess that mediocre offense counts as killing it? He was shite at every stop and only looks half way competent due to Stein.

nah, Kelly was literally yelling at him to figure something tout during the games.

He wasn’t out there changing plays.

Playcalling isn’t easy, but it’s a lot harder when you don’t have a functional scheme.

We didn’t have any creativity in our run game the entire time Kelly was here, and that was masked by Daniels being such a threat to run

Not gonna lie when he first went to LSU I thought y’all were borrowing him for a couple of years and he was going to come back to Tech as head coach.

Yes. In a bad team culture no coach is going to be very successful. We didn’t have a running game; we didn’t have a defense; and the only time we had a very good passing game was when we had a historically great QB.

Is Sloan killing it, or is it Stein?

Is he though? We must have different definitions of killing it.
