Couple recent mock drafts have other players move ahead of Angel and Hailey. Seems like both need additional year to perfect their craft. And make a lot more $$ with NILs before going to WNBA.

I'd be shocked if they didn't. With NIL, they can make more money here than they can in the WNBA.

Yes. Worth much more in college than the WNBA.

Angel is mocked in the top 10 in most forecasts. Remember, they can actually make more money staying at LSU, but at some point they may just be ready to move on.

Women’s pro basketball is so much different men’s basketball and football….even baseball. The WNBA only has 12 teams (NBA has 30, I believe). If you’re not a guaranteed top-ten pick, I would just use up my eligibility. Especially in this NIL era.

Being attached to the LSU brand> being attached to WNBA franchise nobody knows exists.

They will treat playing at LSU like a job and stay as long as they can.

That’s what Shaq told Reese to get her mind right when she thought she was bigger than LSU.

She better make as much as she can before leaving.

Depends on if they're tired of doing homework or not

1st round picks get waived pretty regularly even in their 1st season in the WNBA. I don’t know why any WCBB player would leave early now with NIL.

Angel needs a degree. She has a ton of money to manage and needs to learn how to manage it.

I think it will come down to how the season ends.

I seriously doubt either stays. After awhile it’s time to move on and the NIL attractiveness of Reese and HVL as LSU WBB players has a limited shelf time.

How can a degree help with that?

I hope Reese comes back but I don't think she cares all that much about the school part of being a college athlete. A lot of her endorsements will follow. With that said, the same exposure and popularity she has at LSU won't be the same in the W as she isn't going to be the 'star' player when she goes. So something for her to keep in mind.

HVL. Its been a rough start for her at LSU transitioning to a completely different position and role but the last couple games it seems like she is finally coming around now and the light is clicking now. No clue what to think with her to be honest. She isn't projected top 10 in the draft right now

I'm not sure I'm understanding you, Reese at LSU is going to generate much more value for her than moving to a pro team. Many of her endorsements will follow but if you aren't the 'face' of the pro team and actively producing at a high level at the pro level she isn't gonna get near as much attention and opportunities as she gets now in college being one of the faces in the sport at the collegiate level.

Same thing with HVL.

Their NIL/endorsement value is the highest its going to be now. Unless they become the face of their pro teams and dominate (likely not happening) than the endorsement opportunities are 100% gonna drop off a good bit.

But hey, thats their decision, not everyone wants to deal with school.

You didn't know Angel is looking to get a degree in Accounting?

I am sure that Angel is working on her brand where those endorsements will follow when she “retires” from LSU much like Shaq is an influencer post-NBA. And I think she’s building a powerful enough brand as a social media influencer where it’s not dependent on basketball, either LSU or WNBA. I don’t think yet another year at LSU is honestly going to add to her attractiveness as an influencer to attract endorsements.

That’s why I say I don’t think she’ll return in 2024-25, though as a Tiger fan, I’d like to see it. But hey, the OP was asking for opinions and this one is mine. So I guess all we can do is wait and see, can’t we?

Unless you have some source for this, that’s a sorry thing to say. Why single her out? I think I know the answer.
