There is a lot of ignorant posters in here. If you check the models there is the potential that this storm makes landfall anywhere from galveston to corpus christi and stalls west of houston. Both the GFS and the Euro show the storm lingering around SE TX from Fri thru Sunday and then moving slowly East potentially back over the Gulf making a second landfall in LA Tuesday of next week. This has the potential to be a more severe flood than TS Allison. NRG may not be LSU's first venue for 2017.

I agree. If this is a big rain maker and stalls over Texas it may not affect the stadium itself but there could be severe flooding that can mess up infrastructure. The stadium in Columbia was fine in 2015 but the surrounding area had been flooded and there wasn't clean running water and it forced the game to be played in BR. I don't think it's likely that the game will be forced to move but I do think there is a chance that it can become necessary.

I was IN that Sept 17th Hurricane Rita evacuation in Houston.

Just moved to Houston after Katrina and then went through Rita immediately afterwards.

My Lord. Houston has plans for shite like this. I'm sure they would have notified everyone by now if it was such a legit possibility as you say. Houston is a huge city, there will be plenty of shelters at buildings other than nrg stadium if it comes down to that. Come on now.

TS Allison was the worst. Historic. We were fortunate to live in the Houston "Heights" at the time which is about 40 ft higher than the rest of the town. No infrastructure can handle that much rainfall in so short a period.

This is why I want to always open in a dome. I'd be a nervous wreck right now watching the storm if we opened in TS. I'm sick of late august weather in La effected games every year

Well, Houston didn't have to spend money on removing statues that could have been used on pumps. When Houston floods, it floods in the same places; downtown along the bayous, and 1-10 west just past downtown. NRG will be fine, there won't be any evacuees hosted there, nor has there ever been. The game will go on, quit buying into the news hype, and take a deep breath.

The game will be played in Tiger Stadium. But we'll have to play in Provo in 2018, '19, and '27.

Regardless of what happens, no decision will be made until next week. Everyone needs to relax.
