Stay between Gervais/Assembly/Main areas. Drive to the game. Plenty of hotel options because there’s nothing too close to stadium.

Should we stay near the football stadium?

A group of us responded to an ad in the Reveille for a hotel in Columbia for an LSU game in the mid-80’s. The ad said it was 1/4 mile to the stadium and an easy walk but that turned out to be total BS. The hotel staff just shrugged.

Had a good time at the game - fans seemed friendlier than most SEC venues. I think the game ended in a tie?

After the game, we went to a place for wings. We ordered a hot variety but these were inedible…like something from a food challenge. We were drunk and ate most of them anyway and took some to go. I tried a wing the next morning to see if it was the same sober and it was excruciating. The restaurant definitely spiced up the wings for the LSU fans but we took it in stride.

I live in Charleston currently. It’s the #2 bachelorette destination currently, so you should absolutely go to Charleston. Downtown Charleston is about as easy and safe to maneuver as anywhere. I tell people it’s a safer, nicer, cleaner, more upscale Nola. They even have a section called French Quarter. This town is about as good as it gets.

I’m actually planning on going to the game, as well

There are lots of LSU fans here in SC. We will have the whole family there for the game, I bet you will see lots of Purple and Gold there for this one!

Prepare, it will be hot as Hades in Columbia in Sept. Hotter than BR.

Not even close!

Is it humid? Sure, but not as bad as BR.

Way better chance for a 75F day in Columbia than BR.

My son is a freshman at USCe. Planning to go to the game with him.
From what I hear, it's a great game day experience.

SC is a nice trip. If you can snag an invite to one of the Cabooses for tailgating it’s lots of fun.

Daughter (no pics) graduates form USC in May. Only got over for games 3 times while she was there due to covid year, but all were great times. Went to the Clemson game this year and it was a great way to finish her time there. The atmosphere rivals anywhere in the SEC. Stadium isn't as large as others, but the fans are into it the whole game and stay to the end unlike some other programs. Sandstorm is great and the entrance of the team is cool too. If they can ever remove themselves from Clemson's football shadow, look out.

Columbia is similar to BR but better centralized clusters of restaurants and bars. (5 pts, Gervais St, etc.) Liberty Taproom, Tsunami, Thirsty Fellow Pizzeria, Kaminsky's for dessert are all great spots.

I may have to go back this year even though she has graduated.

Lot of good looking women in SC (if you're into that kind of stuff). Williams-Brice Stadium is nice or it was. The movie "The Program" was filmed there, so if you saw it you have an idea of what the stadium is like. No one knows what the 25 schedule is much less the 26. Schedules will be year to year until they decide the 8 or 9 game schedule issue.

Charleston one of the largest brewery cities in the south. Definitely hit King Street, Meeting Street, and Market Street. And if you guys can still walk upright, and your crew is looking to get a round of golf in, the Ocean Course at Kiawah is one of the best courses in America. Also Charleston National and The Dunes in Mount Pleasant are a little cheaper and or awesome tracks as well.

Not buying it at all, grew up in South La. And the Carolina weather is the best in the country, next to immigrant infested San Diego

Yeah Savannah is really nice but it does not compare to Charleston, when it comes to night life.

I’m definitely going. I’m currently in Greenville, two hours away. We’re going to check on getting an RV spot. Looks like spots go on sale on 1/22. Worst case, it’s a day trip.

Geaux Tigers!

Roswell Tiger: my daughter is a freshman at USCe (we live just down the road from you, in Peachtree Corners) and we've been to a couple games at Williams-Brice. Great experience.
