am sure he signed something to get to run around the Cowboys facility in a Cowboys uniform...
This plus the new SEC rules added a layer about “not properly withdrawing from the draft” - so even by their own standards he wouldn’t be eligible
Yeah, I saw that too. But it appears (not just in this case) that the SEC is overlooking that for this class and focusing on the signed contract and appeared on a roster part. The guys who went to minicamp for tryouts do not get added to the roster and probably sign a waiver but not a contract.
Junior Tuihalamaka is also one of those guys, and Lane said today that he is on the team, though he is not listed on the roster on LSUsports.net when I check 30 minutes ago.

spring camp invite where he's not paid no contract. You guys are saying its the exact same as a guy who is making six figures and playing in NFL preseason games.
I'm not.

quote:This is not a stupid rule, we all know the difference between NFL rookie mini camp and training camp. When a player contributes in training camp, they immediately get 25 upgrade points on Madden and in real life, but they don’t get that in rookie mini-camp. Which is why them coming back to college is so controversial.
As stupid as it is this guy is technically eligible since he never signed a contract or declared for the draft

No Dae'quan or Junior listed on LSU roster.
We don’t have to submit ours until Friday.

Which of these players looking to return have made 6 figures?

You can’t step on an NFL practice field without signing a variety of forms, to cover liability, insurance, medical release forms in case of injury, getting a history of previous medical issues, comprehensive medical exam, etc. so he certainly put his name on paper.

So here is a question: if a college underclassman works out for an NFL team but doesn’t declare for the draft, is he still eligible?? Only if he plays for Texas????

UDFAs are not making 6 figures in NFL preseason games.

It appears this guy wasn't drafted and didn't sign a contract. He did attend tryouts / preseason camps.
He signed an undrafted free agent contract. He was paid by the Cowboys to attend preseason camp.
He is, by every known definition, a professional football player.

ok. That's different than what I saw when I did a brief search.
Can you link that by chance?

Hmmmmm...
I was told this was an exclusively LSU thing.
