I don’t understand this need to diminish a team that was in the championship at the CWS. Especially given the G1 result vs a really, really good lsu team

Me either. They even fought back in game 2 and gave themselves chances. Their relievers pitched a shutout after the starter got crushed

The problem is that everyone looked at LSU-Arkansas as the real showdown, playing CC was viewed as a letdown, regardless of their win streak going into the finals series.

We didn’t have to. They embarrassed themselves!

There are 3 or 4 sec teams better than them....it is what it is......Arkansas and LSU the two best teams...tenn probably also better than coastal...perhaps late season vandy

their pitching shut us down in 17 out of 18 innings

I mean not to disagree. They pitched well, but how did they shut us down in 17 of 18 if we scored in 3?

You don’t know what a good team is. Ragged LSU all year.

I was expecting more from Morrison the way they talked him up. Flukey was just as good if not better. If they left Morrison in we would have probably scored 8-10 runs. We hit him pretty hard.

I think Morrison just got a little rattled with the ejections and then his pickup not working or working and figuring that out that he just wasn’t really in the game. He’s a great pitcher who just had one of those days.

When Schnall realized that, he decided to melt / self-eject to try and change the narrative. But Sully was a disrespectful bully? What a clown.

We had a win margin of 1.5 runs per game. I’m not sure why some of you are acting like we embarrassed them.

We played with the lead for 15 of the 18 innings, we’re tied for 2 and trailed in only 1.

Close games but I never thought we’d lose either game. Do some of you feel guilty and want to return the trophy because the margin wasn’t high enough?

Flukey and the relievers did their job well. Their batters I can understand having trouble with the best 1-2 starter combo in the nation plus they weren't really a big offensive team anyway.

I was kind of surprised by how sloppy they were at some of the little things because that's supposed to be one of their strengths. They had 3 errors in two games, and some miscues not scored as errors such as passing up the DP in 1st inning of game 1, oversliding 3rd base on a steal, their all world catcher dropping a lot of pitches and rolling over the ball on the bunt when his pitcher was right there about to grab it. I guess maybe the magnitude of the moment got to them but that part of their game did not perform as advertised.

I also just think it was a bad matchup for them. Our top end pitching and defense is tough for the style of offense they play. Their pitching depth never manifested as an advantage because we only needed to use 3 pitchers, perhaps it would have manifested in a regional format or the old compressed Omaha format, or if we had to use an ace in an extra Arkansas game.

Nope, and that’s a pretty fricking ridiculous question to ask in this context.

You are comparing UCF football and Coastal baseball and I say they are apples and oranges and that you are tactually a higher candidate than me for being, as you said, a "dumbass"

I just think the real championship was LSU-Arkansas...Coastal Carolina was never going to be tougher than Arkansas. Too much was made of CC beating Auburn...

Ask Coach Jay Johnson what he thinks of this stupid attempt to discredit LSU's 8th NC.

One word SUNBELT. All their decent wins were midweek against pen guys. Only 3-4 legit wins against good teams at full strength

Eight in a row in the playoffs. They were a very good team.

They were comparable to a lower tier sec team, with maybe 1 additional good pitcher. They scored 3 runs in 2 games. No other team we faced all year scored that few in a 2 game stretch except for oklahoma. I think it's obvious that bracket 1 was full of mediocre teams.

Cmon man.. they were better than you are presenting them to be.
