I get it and it makes sense, but it really sucks for the fans that go there to support their team. A lot of families look forward to that event. Many take off work with the intention of spending a long weekend at the ballpark

Maybe we should replace the SEC tournament with an 11th conference series

The tournament and location are both awesome. Couldn’t ask for a more family friendly atmosphere. I wouldn’t change a thing. Just wish we played it to win it. But again, I get it.

Skenes and Floyd were both on pitch counts and White didn’t play yesterday. It’s more nuanced than you want it to be. No more of these excuses going forward. It’s all in

2 big wins for LSU coming out of Hoover- Crews looks to have snapped out of his slump, and Hurd started and pitched a good game against a regional host-caliber team. And to be clear, South Carolina is one of the teams that did want to make some noise at Hoover. They're right on the bubble to host, they probably would have locked it up with a few wins.

Tennessee won both last season. A lot of good it did them. I know I say this a lot but that was one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Yet we're the arse clowns.

the conference has gotten so good it's meaningless.

SEC had at least four top 8 seeds and four more hosts before it even began

maybe A&M secured a bid this weekend but for the top teams in the conference it's a waste of time

There’s little chance the committee sees us as weaker after the SEC tourney. Sans an unlikely catcher interference, we would have beat Arkansas and played every game tough, all while “resting” players and having Skenes on pitch count. We will be fine in seeding.

Tell me you know nothing about college baseball without telling me you know nothing about college baseball.

Since 2009 4 SEC teams have won the NCAA championship without winning the SEC tourney, more than have won both the SEC tourney and NCAA championship in the same year. The NCAA champions the past 2 years --- Moo State and Ole Miss --- did not win either the SEC tourney or the SEC regular season title.

Well Vanderbilt won both as recently as 2019.

But you're saying the goal should be to NOT try to win the regular season or SEC Tournament? Brilliant, just brilliant.

But if that's your wish I think we have the right coach. Those are certainly not any of his goals.

I couldn’t agree more. This was my first SEC Baseball Tournament and I had a blast. Easy drive from Ruston to Hoover. Less than $20 a day, and you got to watch either two or four games a day. Free parking, but no beer available kinda shocked me. I had no complaints, and definitely will come back as long as the Tournament stays in Hoover.

It's not to say they didn't try. But there are different levels, in how you manage the roster, of trying.

Sorry, forgot reading comprehension is not the strong point here. I never said you shouldn’t try, I merely pointed out that it is not a necessity.

20-10 won the SEC title. We were 19-10 and never got a shot at winning (or losing) that 30th SEC game.

I heard CJJ say he was not going to make decisions (esp pitching) in the SEC TY that MIGHT negatively impact our play in the Regionals.

Our entire season has been focused on where we are now...NCAA REgionals.

Moved from a 3 to a 2. Not a huge improvement
