They said, 'Coach, you've got $17.1 million on your contact. We're gonna give it to you.' I said, 'What time do you want me to leave and what door do you want me out of, brother?'

He also said he is thankful for his time at LSU, how LSU handled it and calls Woodward a friend.

I like that. Worked out for both sides. Shouldn’t be any animosity from any direction.

I expect the response from the thread will shite on him for this comment but he went out gracefully, didn't make a big stink, has been complimentary of LSU and how it was handled.

He did not get $17.1 million, more like $8.55 million

Well that isn’t a winners mentality. That’s exactly why Ed O failed here outside of the stars aligning with Brady and Burrow.

ETA: I get it and can’t say I wouldn’t do the same if my job offered that. Life is too short to kill your self over work. But look at the best coaches in college football (especially Saban). Something is almost wrong with them where they have that hunger in them and nothing is every good enough. Even when they reach the pinnacle. Ed O has zero of that quality.

Coach O had no desire to put in the work needed to be a successful program after 2019. Probably couldn't believe how lucky he got with that buyout and couldn't wait to quit

That’s insight into the mind of someone that doesn’t want to work for success and isn’t motivated by winning and dominating. Big time coaches that are motivated by winning and dedicated to their craft would not happily accept that.

Between Coach O and Jordan Travis today it has been a love fest with LSU.

As much as well all wanted to believe it, Coach O wasn't much different from the coach he was at Ole Miss, except he brought in some good coordinators and players. But the really didn't have a plan and lost his focus after 2019.

feel the same

he knew he caught lightening in the bottle in 2019. probaly shocked as everyone else that it happened

afterwards he realized he was fricked and was ready to checkout knowing he’d get his money

O wanted a NC for LSU. He got it and much more. He was not interested in the work it takes to create a dynasty. It takes a demented personality to want to work that hard for that long.

Sounds like he knew his motivation was elsewhere.

Classy separation. Props O.

And proof of this was evident Sunday night by the lack of veteran talent at so many position groups.

Bc Scott is as much of a crook as O is.

You know he went to bat for Ed to upon leaving. “Guys cmon let’s just pay him in full so we can overpay for our next coach”.

Yet you guys think Scott is a f’ing wizard
