Everyone hates on Ed
They are jealous of him. They genuinely think they are better and smarter than him. He did something they dreamed of doing as a kid, leading LSU to a national championship. They can’t handle the fact that another guy from Louisiana did it while they punch a clock for shite pay and go home to a lard arse screaming at them

Did you spit or swallow?

And I think his window would have been longer if not for Covid in 2020.

That's a lot of projecting you're doing there.

Covid absolutely was part of his demise

A small part.
The bigger part was he decided to have a mid-life crisis after winning the natty.
Some coaches have that fire to keep going all the time, even after winning it all. Some are more content after getting to the top and they typically never get there again.
He got to the top, cashed in, and was content. That is why the program fell apart the next two years.

I heard he is charging people $5 to rip his shirt off now
I'd pay $10 for him to keep it on.

How exactly? He won it all in 2020, then had a bad season during COVID in 2020. Followed by being bought out in 2021… when would we have done that prior?
Obviously they could not have; you are right. But they could have not extended him so much. They should have given him a big bump in salary - especially incentives - and given him a two year extension. He was always destined to bust. It was a miracle that he put together 2018 and 2019.

WRONG. it was a combo of:
COVID, opt outs, no spring practice, and wait for it..........BLM
every coach in America had to navigate those same issues.

Losing both coordinators and the GOAT #9 proves that LSU won in spite of Orgeron.
Coach O brought in Burrow. He deserves credit there.

No he didn't.

And yet other programs also went through covid and didn’t tank. It’s almost as if effective leadership matters.

Coach O had Burrow brought to him. He didn’t frick it up though, unlike so many other things that he touched. I guess I’ll give credit where credit is due.

If not for a string of badluck he would still be here.
Hard to call it bad luck. He had a lot happening at once, but he was not capable of hiring good coordinators, and had no answer for the roster turnover in 19' & 20'.
Les Miles with all his faults, was able to withstand this a few times. Especially with heavy roster turnover. So its not like it was impossible.

Coach O had no recruiting strategy and it started showing in his last years and when BK took over. He was lights out landing studs just never was good at looking forward and filling needs.

and Hiring Good Coaches.
His coaches were so bad, BK rehired one as the current DC and some fans want him to be head coach in waiting

Yeah. No other coach in the country had to deal with this. So unfair.

Will always love O for what he gave us. For sure going to this and see what he's been up to. Thanks for sharing

I mean, has Bama really been the same since Covid? 4 year stretch without a Bama Natty is pretty odd, I think as LSU fans we can all admit that.
