Les Miles had one of the greatest records of alltime vs non ranked teams 72-11 at LSU so I dunno where you’re getting this. His record vs teams ranked 11-25 is also the best ever in LSU history. Sabans record was better vs top 5 and maybe top 10 but top 5-10 is very close.

Well I have heard people saying o can’t get us in the playoffs. I’m sure you’ve read those posts right. We were in a better position to make the cfb playoff this year going into final game than we were in 2007

Going into the final game? Nah - actually we weren't. You see, the playoffs have this thing called a committee. There's no way, at all, AT ALL they were going to vote us in after that 29-0 blanking in Baton Rouge. Maybe in YOUR mind, had we beat A&M, we had a chance - but that's the dumbest thing ever. Going into the final game, we had a GREAT chance to go into the sugar bowl, but we didn't.

Going into the final game, we had a chance to have a 10 win regular season - but we didn't.

Going into the final game - we had more losses in regulation than the 2007 team. We had more losses total as well.

On wait - here's my favorite one.

Going into the final game - the 2007 team was ranked #1. It was the final game they lost before going on to win the SEC and BCS.

So, no, going into the final game, I think 1st ranked team competing for 2 spots is better than anything we were ranked... GOING into the final game.

We played Arkansas, Rice and Texans A&M after Bama this and went 2-1

0-1 vs team who won 3 games

It’s easy to rebound after Alabama when you don’t have to play a team with a pulse.

Since 2016 O hasn’t only played 7 teams over .500 after Alabama

That’s including 3 bowl games.

And he is 4-3 in those game

I have one question for you. You said you went through this, and got mad. Do you even follow the team at all? All the guys that transferred. All the guys, tho highly rated, we not good players at LSU.

Did you even see my bridge comments? Guys like Godchaux and Dupre that O got 1 year out of in his interim year.

You proved my point for me.

It's just ridiculous that the same posters here continue to aggressively assert that major improvements have been made and that an upward trend exists.

There isn't any measurable results that support and favor their argument but for some reason that doesn't matter. Orgeron had a better season this year compared to the shite show last season and now O's crushing it with things trending up.

O has been in charge for nearly 3 full seasons including his time as interim HC. He's been a part of the LSU program since early January in 2015. All this time with the program and there's still isn't any measurable results that show Orgeron has been any better than the fired guy he replaced...... Let alone any type of "Upward Trend".

Except we somehow got into the top 2 in 2007 and we were even going to be top 4 in 2018 IF we won.

We wouldn’t have been top 5. We were not skipping OSU or Oklahoma. And neither of them lost.

Probably because Dabo had substantive accomplishments (e.g., Division title in year one, ACC title in year three).

Some of you have a horrible ability to appreciate context when comparing O to other coaches. It's almost as if you have an agenda (at best), or are just burying your heads in the sand (at worst).

You keep talking about top end talent, where’s the top end talent on our lines now? What top end talent has Orgeron brought in on the lines?

This will be his second full class. So far, in two recruiting cycles he’s signed four 4 or 5* OL (only two of which are OTs), and two 4 or 5* DL, and brought in Fehoko.

Seems to me someone with the recruiting chops Orgeron has would recognize these weaknesses and address them.

I don't care what happened to them. They were recruited and signed by Les Miles. Players leaving before or after O getting here has NOTHING to do with Les Miles' recruiting.

Attrition happens to every team. Ed Orgeron is the only coach to date that I've seen to use that as a major excuse.

You and others claim that Les Miles was not recruiting top talent at positions of need. You even listed the positions.

I just showed you that he, as an HC, did what he was supposed to and got top knotch talent here based on the consensus of many experts in the field of recruiting.

quote:

where's the top end talent?

10 4 stars and a five star in essentially 3 years.

Ed Orgeron has what, 3 4 star recruits in his 3 recruiting classes? 0 5 stars.

"Filling needs" lol

quote:

Godchaux- gone after O's interim year. Where's the top end talent?

So, another top end recruit that Miles recruited that O was unable to retain?

8 4 stars and 1 5 star.

Doesn't change the fact that per all accounts they were some of the best recruits in the country at the time of their recruitment.

O finally looks to possibly have his first top 10 class. You're among those that seems to think 0% of these players will get hurt, transfer or just be over rated in general.

Les was doing nothing abnormal when it came to recruiting. Just some p#ss poor luck and events.

They also hadn’t won a championship since the 80 and he was following up Tommy Bowden.

Their last Conference Title was in 1991 and they hadn’t won their division ever.

I dont Think you could call Clemson a rebuild when he took over, it was a never built.

Context. p&g doesn't want to hear it. It's borderline religious fanaticism. O will be successful. We just must have faith.

Have to give him a ton of credit for holding together that '17 class as the interim coach in '16. Didn't that class finish #7 or close to that?

How many championships does O have as HC? Kind of odd how you simultaneously denigrate Dabo's achievements while using him as an example of how O will be successful. Odd, but not surprising. You're grasping at anything you can.
