Up by 20 points with 4 minutes to go. Why not bring in players off the bench to get some PT? Allow your starters some rest.

Main reason I can see why is to make a statement to get into the tournament. Granted it's Auburn, winning by 20 instead of potentially 8 looks better. LSU needs every bit of help right now in case there's another couple of losses.

It's hard to take the foot off the gas.

This team has had a problem putting away teams when they have a decent lead. You have to keep foot on the gas.

Its not like they would have expended much energy finishing the game out.
I'm not worried about our starters resting. I'm just concerned about the lack of development of some of our bench players. It can get rough when we need them for minutes do to foul trouble or maybe in the SEC tourney if we play several games in a row.

Not to piss on one of our better showing but I was thinking the same. I'd also liked to have seen some Bridgewater earlier to body up on Bowers, would have been the perfect matchup for him.

But good game Tigers!!

Length is the matchup against Bowers. Bridgewater isn't as tall or thick as him so might've gotten schooled.

up by 20 with 4 minutes to go. Game is locked. Get your young players in there to run out some clock

I am really amazed that our fans can find something to bitch about in a 20 point win. Best game that LSU has played this season

There is a greater chance of that happening with uninspired starters in the game. Plus, how does our season look if Martin or Mickey (or any starter) gets hurt in garbage time?

BTW, I think the point differential between LSU and Auburn in the 4th to last game of the season doesn't mean diddly to anyone, and even if it did, 8 points is just as impressive as 20 to anyone who knows basketball.

This is not the time to back off. We're still fighting to just make it into the NCAA tourney; and the main reason we're not already a lock is because the starters have been inconsistent. So when you finally get these guys playing well, you leave them in and keep it rolling.

To make any kind of run at the end of the season you need play from your bench. 5 or 6 player s can't make a run in the tourney. How do you know our players off the bench can't continue dominatiNg Auburn?

this is not the first time.

he must really have ZERO confidence in the other guys.

I have observed the same problem with other teams/coaches.

I think he is making a big mistake.
