The bench is fricking terrible. Who cares? This isn't the time of year you "get guys experience". I'd much rather the starters go through the motions and get ready for the next one. You don't want the game to get a little tight. Carry over a blowout into Saturday.

What bench are you speaking of? It is getting close to do or die time for this team. He had to play all his starters to secure victory. They would have called for his head if this game would have been lost due to playing his bench to early.

Normally I would agree, but this team needs coaching on basics and playing time. I think JJ realizes they most continue to improve if they are going to make a run in the playoffs.

I actually thought last night was one of his better coaching efforts.

If you haven't noticed, we do not have a bench. Coach Jones needs to stick with Quarterman, Hornsby, Patterson, Martin, Mickey playing extended minutes. Gray seems to be playing a bit better. The rest of the guys just aren't that good.

I AGREE, but you don't have to change all 5 players just sub one r two to get some real game action

Not quite. Fourth best by my count.

1. Florida at the O when we beat their brakes off and they hadn't given up.

2. Kentucky at the Maravich Center

3. UT in Knoxville

4. The Barn 2

Plus, how does our season look if Martin or Mickey (or any starter) gets hurt in garbage time?

What if they got hurt at tip. Or walking to the bus? Or getting out of the bus? How would our season look then? I think we should get rid of buses.

Thank you for finding something to criticize the coach for. We haven't had an appropriate LSU post game until some idiotic "fan" complains about something.

Of course, had Jones put in the bench players and the final victory margin was only, say, 8 or 10 points instead of 22, then some other of our fine "fans" would have griped about him not calling time out enough.

Oh, and it's not like these bench players don't get to compete against starters during practice, thereby gaining the experience you don't think they get.

I just don't know why the outcome of games bother people so much that they have to express themselves immediately on the Internet.

Playing in an actual game is alot different than playing in practice. Not just this game he doesn't like to use his bench. have been criticizing the whole season about lack of play from the bench.

With the new starting 5 + Gray + Malone = 7

Gray is playing with better decisions, and Malone had some solid minutes in relief.

Since we have been playing the starters so many minutes so far this season, they are used to it. Gray and Malone offer rest minutes. The interchangeable guards, allows for combinations w/o a drop off.

I wish we had another productive "big", but you have to go with your best option, and that's Malone. Hopefully he relaxes around the basket and takes it to the hole, rather than try to pass every time.

well, this is a fan message board where fans, you know, express themselves.

As for complaining, I think the reason is that JJ has used our bench so little this season, that we're looking for any good opportunity to get our bench guys some game experience. And last night, late in the game, would've been a good time for that.

All in all, it's not a big deal, but I don't think it's outrageous for fans to feel this way.

The only thing I would have done differently is to get Bridgewater 15 minutes. He got maybe 1. He has been playing well and improving every game, we will need his minutes if we get in foul trouble. But then again, putting him in means taking one of M&M's out.

Wow, people love to complain. And interestingly, this is almost identical to something one of the commentators said, about LSU not using their bench players while in a blowout.

For the record, LSU is not guaranteed a spot in the NCAA tournament. If they go on a losing streak now (something they've done several times following impressive wins), they are out. And currently, there are several conference teams still on schedule that are considered "ahead" of us- meaning these teams can clearly beat us.

Wow, some people just like to bitch about anything they can.
This team has trouble finishing games. We are 20-8, and at least half of those losses were games we had in the W column, if we finished.
The KENTUCKY GAME was one of them.

You put this team at 23-5 or 24-4, we're not only NOT on the bubble, we're likely a 4 seed and ranked around 10-14th.

So LSU is playing a road game (against a team that has beaten them at home), and they were letting Auburn hang around (I think it was 49-46; I know it was a 3 pt game) with about 12 minutes to go. Classic LSU struggle, unable to put the team away. Seen this problem all year.
The team puts on a huge surge to blow it open...and you want to take out the starters??? THIS is exactly what they need to work on. Forget depth and bench, you need your main players to learn how to complete a game, and not allow Auburn to make a run. We go NOWHERE if they don't get that straightened out

Auburn is 4-11 in conference. I agree with it being #4 in the other list though.

Stupid point. You can't practically get rid of bus rides or meaningful minutes. You can get rid of garbage time minutes. His point was that you could limit your risk without it costing you anything except margin of victory.
