re: Coach BK says they did not prepare Jaden Daniels well enough for some looks from Auburn

Everyone that says Nuss will throw INTs, clearly watched Southern but not New Mexico. Nuss pushed in Southern and made mistakes, yet took what was given and executed against New Mexico.
He had a bad game yes and threw some INTs. Will he throw more than Daniels, yes because Nuss will actually throw the damn ball vs being scared to throw.

Is the coach supposed to throw him under the bus?
Of course he said that.

We were 3 offensive penalties and 2 broken defensive plays away from throttling those guys.

Stop with this fricking shite. Did you not learn from Les and early era O? You can’t win like this consistently in the SEC.
No shite. He’s a transfer QB in a transition year. The only QB that could throw it downfield isn’t on the team anymore. Be thankful we have a QB that can even operate well enough to give you a chance to win any SEC game.
This team is overachieving by playing hard for 4 quarters. This never was going to be a blueprint for how to win in the SEC moving forward. Before the season people were hoping we didn’t get blown out in sec games.
The way the team fights together for 4 quarters and doesn’t give up is what we need to notice. Because there are a few on the team that didn’t buy into that and it’s obvious. That attitude and mindset of “me before team” is exactly why we were 6-6 the past two seasons.

The o-line is playing much better right now. Giving him time back there most of the time.
Wouldn't you guys at least like to see another qb(Nuss), go out there and maybe he throws a couple pics, but also throws for 250 in the game with a couple scores. Would at least keep the receivers interested in being out there. It's getting hard to watch, and some kind of change needs to happen.
With JD all we have is the two minute offense, which was talked about last night as well. We can't keep doing this.
At the beginning of the season, it was that the o-line couldn't give enough time to have anyone else back there to throw the ball with any time. Well that's not the case anymore.
I'd trade a win for some stats. Right now we have no stats. Just some thoughts.

With 33 LSU recruited scholarship players, freshman, and first year transfers. People forget this isn’t a three year top 10 recruiting class roster. There’s talent on the team but not where it will be.

By now an experienced QB like jd should be able to recognize defense with little instruction. Jd lack of defense IQ is going to be an issue the rest of the year

would you rather have a 300 yd passing game, or a win?
You mention Les, I remember the board quite well during that period. People started saying they're rather see an exciting loss, than another boring win.
We just went through an 11-12 period the last 2 years, where Brennan and Johnson often put up over 275 yds passing.
Like everyone else, I'd like BOTH.
But if it's just one, give me the win any day. Give me 80 yds passing and a WIN at Auburn, instead of 400 yds and a loss at Missouri.
We need to get back to winning, before we worry about style points.

They were rushing 4 with a spy. How exotic could it be?
the spoy was the issue he wasnt prepared for
they practiced things with set parameters for where players will move to and nothing with one guy always shadowing you so thats what BK was talking about.
doesnt seem like rocket science to figure out if you have leverage to outrun a guy, but it caused daniels to read he needed to hold it, and then gets tackled

That game turned on the AU muffed punt, the Perkins pick and the Brooks Honeybadger theft.

quote:Correct. It was pretty simple. We were predictable. They scouted us well and formulated an appropriate game plan. Their players were well coached and disciplined. We didn't adjust very well.
I didn't see Auburn run anything exotic last night.
When your offense is limited in what it can do, it gives any decently talented and coached defense an advantage. That was the key to 2019. The larger the percentage of the field you force the other team to defend, the greater the advantage for the offense. Our offense needs to develop more dimensions if we hope to win the battle against any of the defenses remaining on our schedule.

What do you expect BK to day? I choose to start a QB who can’t read a defense and is scared to throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field.
This is coach speak at his finest. He doesn’t want to kill Daniels confidence which to be honest he doesn’t seem to have anyway.

Teams will not play man against us bc running QBs eat it up. Prepare for a steady diet of zone for the rest of the year
This. And I'm sick of Mason Taylor getting 15 targets a game. Hayden is going to have to learn to throw to the open spot before his guy gets there. There isn't going to be wide open people all the time in the SEC.

t “hey we won” is such a dumb rebuttal to the criticism of the offense.
I think it's a reasonable rebuttal for THIS team, THIS SEASON. Now, 2 years from now I would say it doesn't fly. I'm just gonna enjoy every win as they come, whether it's pretty or ugly.

But he’s going to keep doing it. As Kelly said last week, they want to keep their WRs on the field, the problem is they’re useless if JD is used the way we continue to use him.
Posted on 10/2/22 at 3:41 pm to TigerAttorney
Also he made endless catchable throws that receivers refused to catch.
Posted on 10/2/22 at 3:43 pm to tigerfan88
Someone on the bench can avoid interceptions, too.

I'm starting to think it isn't the coaching

Well coach Kelly did inform us plenty of times in the spring and off season that this season was a whole work in progress. So if you were expecting 10 plus wins then that’s unrealistic
I have never expected 10 wins. I was thinking 8 would be a great outcome going into the season, but we will struggle to get to 6 unless this offense gets things figured out.
