Per Matt Thomas, Michigan St would be opponent depending on Ohio St/Wisconsin game.

Citrus is more prestigious bowl, if we can play Michigan state in that, I'll take it. Northwestern might be headed to Outback bowl, talk about a snoozefest.

I think Notre Dame might be the opponent instead, they are higher ranked.

Looks like another LSU Notre Dame matchup.

I really wanted to play Michigan but they are lower in pecking order than Mich St and Northwestern even though they played a harder schedule than both.

I wish Wisky would beat OSU and push them out of the NY6. It would be great to play tOSU and Meyer.

They really don't have much of a choice. Mississippi State without their starting QB and an interim coach isn't a good draw neither is South Carolina.

The only thing I hate about this bowl is that it’s at 12.

Other than that Mich St would be a good ppponent. Going to be a a really physical low scoring game.

I want to play Michigan since Klatt said they would dominate us.

Hopefully Joe and Verge get together with their version of Joe and Verge and schedule us a home and home with them.

Michigan State has beaten Michigan 8 of the last 10, and has also won the conference 3 times since Michigan last has (and also has won it more recently than Ohio State)

Citrus Bowl? @CitrusBowl 15h15 hours ago .@LSUfootball would be the first SEC team to make back-to-back appearances in our game in two decades. @HailStateFB would be making their Orlando bowl debut. @GamecockFB’s last trip here was in 2013.

Bingo!

It's almost assured that Bama and UGA are going to a NY6 game if not the playoffs. If Auburn loses then they would finish with 3 loses just like LSU and LSU beat AU head to head. Nonetheless, AU finished the reg. season 10-2 and won the SECW. I can't see LSU getting picked ahead of them.

That leaves a relatively mediocre "second tier" headed by LSU. I'm sure the Citrus Bowl doesn't want to take LSU for a 2nd year in a row. And I'm sure the players really don't want to go there for a second year in a row. But LSU presents a far better matchup than any of the other potential SEC schools. So it makes sense to take LSU again, even if it isn't ideal.

Personally, unless you are in the playoffs EVERY bowl game is just a glorified exhibition game. I don't care about the location. I just want to see the best matchup. I'd rather watch LSU play a top 15 team in Boise, Id. than watch them play a fringe top 20 team in, say, the Cotton Bowl

LSU vs. ND is more intriguing to the average fan than LSU vs. Mich. St.
