quote:No. It's not like that. CJ achieved many things for LSU, and increased the profile of the university in the process. Checkmate. frick you people.
Its like those retards that want their student loans forgiven, because they stayed drunk for 4 years and never bothered to earn a degree

Shirley we offer a degree in Muslim Studies these days.
Some of the most genuine and great people I met at LSU were Saudis on exchange programs, a few decided to stay. No need to hate.

a) is that the union ballroom? What was going on there?
b) no on jersey retirement unless he graduates. I was always on his side during his controversies, but retired jerseys are for graduates and people the building is named after.
I wonder what the breakdown is for:
1. Alumni who vote “nay”
2. Alumni who vote “yea”
3. Non-alumni who vote “nay”
4. Non-alumni who vote “yea”
I’m gonna guess that 1>2 and 4>3.

Is there a GED for college?

You don't retire jerseys for someone who only played for two years. I don't even care about the graduation part but a two year player looked out for themselves rather than the University when they left so early. Chris was a great player but having only played two years is a huge drawback. Another choice of his, his religion, also has a role in this as well. The university is not keen on honoring folks who do not support this nation. This is simply the way it is. Too bad for Chris. Leaving early was HIS choice as well as choosing his religion as he did. They play the national anthem at the games and having his jersey hanging from the rafters would be hypocritical for him and disrespectful to the flag of the nation he hates. Who you are means something and what you stand for is fair game when others are considering whether or not you deserve recognition.

I think some rewards or accolades should be reserved for those who show an uncommon sense of loyalty to their Alma Mater. CJ did not display such loyalty to LSU in 1990.

I stated the truth. Tell me what there is about his religion that's so wonderful? Is it the ownership of women? The slaughter of those who disagree? Tell me why this should be honored from the rafters of LSU. Otherwise, you frick off.

I loved that dude.
Attended the UF-LSU game when he scored 53.
They'll never be another CJ and regardless of his choice of religion, we should all just enjoy the great memories of watching him play in the purple and gold.

I'm ok with it as long as the jersey has Jackson on the back and not Rauf

I have had three Man Crushes in my life:
Mahmoud
Peter Forsberg (if you don't know I can't explain)
Tyrann
I am all for anything that benefits these three people in any way.

Somebody mentioned his religion... that's the most irrelevant thing going. Dude was at LSU the other day, supportive of his old school, and supports the US. He just doesn't have the SAME religion a lot of us do. It's neither illegal nor unpatriotic to be Muslim.
Now, a question about the name, if it were to happen... he was Jackson here.
What hangs in UCLA, Alcinder or Abdul Jabbar?

No question about it. You don't shite on one of the top few players to ever come through you school. Way to show future recruits how we treat greats.
