Only game I'll be able to make this year is the A&M game to end the season. If our record looks the way I think it will at that time, you'll be able to find me wearing the brown paper bag over my head with YAW-YAW written all over it.

hahaha, my GF is AM, and we have tickets, will proudly wear my LSU gear, but im thinking the same... want the message loud and clear... fire alleva, fire orgeron.

Ole Miss record blah blah blah????

Those who didnt like O's hiring talked about his Ole Miss record because it was the most obvious sign we had that O was a terrible head coach. fricking idiot! We didnt talk about it for fun.

By the way, I remember when O was hired at Ole Miss. I was scared. Ole Miss is a sleeping giant, and O was known as a top notch recruiter. He was a Pete Carrol disciple. I was worried that O would steal Louisiana recruits and turn Ole Miss around.

Then we crushed Ole Miss for three straight years, while O was horrible. Their team was completely hopeless - and they played without passion. We beat Ole Miss badly during the O debacle.

I figured his run as a head coach was over after Ole Miss. Then we go fricking hire him as LSU's HC. HORRIBLE

Thanks for outing yourself. Maybe it was a broken record because people like me were baffled that people like you could just simply dismiss the fact that he was a wretched failure the only other time he was a head coach.

I never dismissed it, and maybe this was wishful thinking, but I felt he sincerely saw how he screwed up with that post, dabbled too much and knew how to differently approach the HC position this go around. Plus, his interim records at USC and here were just tossed out the window which I didn't think was fair.

+1

Same here, didn't think it was a good hire but was really hoping to be wrong with my opinion..starting to see how bad of a hire it really was now and am pretty upset with Alleva's lack of due diligence

They shouldn't be entirely tossed out the window but people acting like those periods were akin to being a permanent head coach were even dumber than the ones totally dismissing his time at Ole Miss. The fact of the matter is, I and others hated the hire because he was an absolute joke at Ole Miss and had done nothing to prove he could take a program and build it since then. Had he gone to a smaller D1 school and built it up into a winner, it'd be one thing. But taking over two supremely talented teams who fired their underachieving coaches and having a little bit of success didn't even slightly sell me on him being an even decent hire. LSU isn't a place where a guy should ever be hired to "prove he's changed" or some shite. I just couldn't believe that anyone, let alone a large segment of our fanbase was OK with the hire, let alone happy about it.

Not to be picky, but what made you feel this exactly?

I still wonder today, when people give the "He learned from his mistakes" line where that comes from.

If he had been a successful coordinator and showed mentorship of position coaches and creating success on one side of the ball. Ok. That's fair. If he had been a head coach somewhere and lead a successful program while not meddling. Again, that's fair evidence.

He was unemployed, never hired as a head coach, and didn't get a ton of spotlight while he was here outside of recruiting and leading up to the interim stint.

Was it literally just the interim stint that said he learned from his mistakes? And if so, what part of it?

He has a winning record in his first year through the first 5 games.

I'll wait to cast my judgment net.

Agree. Its unbelievable. My dad is one. Been an LSU fan for 60+ years and usually very insightful when it comes to Tiger football and thought it was a solid hire.

He is captain of the anti-O ship now.

Because he said so

I really didn't know a lot of O's history, so on the surface level, I had no reason to not think he had seen the light.

And again, I didn't want him as coach. The morning I saw those headlines was pretty dark......until I went to the park with my kids. Cautiously optimistic, and it didn't help that IMO the anti-O crowd was as obnoxious as I had ever seen.

I knew from the beginning the Ogeron tenure would just be a big waste of time because it was basically the Johnny Jones hire 2.0...which was a big waste of time. But I, like you, did not think he would turn things into a dumpster fire so quickly.

I'm kind of like you. Didn't like the hire at all, but once it was done, I was like 'OK, O let's get it done" and was happy to get behind him (mainly because we had no choice).

Well, after being willing tom support him, he has proven that my worst fears were actually overly optimistic. I never EVER thought he would crash and burn this fast and this spectacularly.

So yeah, I've turned on him. I don't even really think he deserves the chance to right the ship.

It was odd to dump on the kickers when HE didnt even bother to hire a special teams coach.

I wanted it to work for O, but I don't think it will. The dude is a slime ball.
