Game's at home. Yes, Beard is a great coach and OM has 2 losses or so but to me this is a winnable game.

We'll be there. Turnovers and rebounds will determine it, IMO.

Honestly one of the biggest difference between this years and last is most all games are winnable in the SEC. Especially at home. Obviously we will lose a lot of them but I dont go into the games chalking up automatic losses.

Feels like a program-building game for McMahon. Last year, we lose to a team like Ole Miss. This year, you have to win a game like this at home to get the support back. Very intriguing matchup.

Cooks play will dictate the outcome. 50/50 at best

Yep. I have no idea if we can pull it off or not, but i agree this is a big 50/50 game.

Yes. Winnable game at home. Surprisingly, Ole Miss is terrible defensively under Beard. LSU got their offense going a bit without Cook in the Auburn game. Maybe those guys, Baker, Reed, Hannibal, can keep it going. But LSU CANNOT turn the ball over again like they did at Auburn. That’s what got Cook benched. He’s been trying to do too much individually instead of facilitating the offense. Maybe the Auburn game humbled him.

A split of the two home games this week, Ole Miss and A&M would be a reasonable goal

Are the McWade McPussies still bleeding their vaginas all over this board into 2024? That’s a given.

Yeah, considering he's getting AP Top 25 votes at McNeese and we are hoping to win 50/50 games in conference at home with a NET ranking in the 90's.

Well, we DID lose to Ole Miss last year, and they were TERRIBLE, and fired their coach. And we lost big to them.

It boggles my mind thinking how poor LSU was last year. Now we may not win many games this year, but the team's attitude and chemistry, and overall talent seem a quantum level above what we saw last year.

I don't know about "program building". But it's one that could sustain a little momentum. LSU plays A&M on Saturday afternoon. Weekend home games (naturally) almost always have better attendance weekday games. Particularly 6:00 pm weekday games. So a win tomorrow could lead to a boost in attendance Saturday in what will be the first weekend SEC home game with students back on campus.

Lose the next two and apathy starts to quickly set in again because after this week, LSU will play 5 of their next 7 on the road in the (on paper) toughest part of the schedule. LSU is NOT going to win all 7 of those games. Hell, they may, AT BEST, only win 2. So starting that stretch of game with 3-4 SEC wins already under their belt will be MUCH more favorable than starting it with only 2 wins.

I don't think Woodward really wants to fire McMahon. So I don't think the bar for what he would consider to be "success/progress" is terribly high (probably 5 SEC wins). But if at the end of February LSU is sitting with something like a 3-8 SEC record, it's going to be hard to get anyone to support keeping McMahon around. For his sake, this week is the best chance to stack a few more wins before the road gets tougher.
