I don't know about "program building". But it's one that could sustain a little momentum. LSU plays A&M on Saturday afternoon. Weekend home games (naturally) almost always have better attendance weekday games. Particularly 6:00 pm weekday games. So a win tomorrow could lead to a boost in attendance Saturday in what will be the first weekend SEC home game with students back on campus.

Agree, but it would be big for this season. This program desperately needs a little win streak and like you said, it won't get easier after the A&M game. Home wins over #22 Ole Miss and A&M would give the fans and more importantly, the team, a lot of confidence as they head into a tough road stretch of games.

This board will melt if LSU head coach Chris Beard loses a home game.

It seems we always have one or two players who play well but there is no consistency. Last game was a great example. Baker comes to life and plays better than he has in most games and Hanibal comes from nowhere and has the best game of his career at LSU.

Reed, Ward and Williams have all shown flashes here and there but no back to back good games. Dean has been a terror on the boards in some games but contributes little in others. Wright and Fountain have been most consistent but they have inexplicable games from time to time also.

Our new point guard has also been infected with the sloppiness disease and at times seems to have a very puzzling mental attitude as well. Despite everyone saying he is the difference maker, I have my doubts.

So who shows up for this game ready to play and who is not? If we can just get 3 or 4 going with effort on both offense and defense we can win. Carelessness, sloppiness, lack of effort and selfishness will mean yet another loss at home.

I think the major key is playing under control without a great many turnovers or fouls. A little teamwork and chemistry and we will be screaming the rafters off.

Ole Miss is similar to how we were last year after beating Arkansas.

They have a NET in the upper 50’s despite being 15-1.

They have played a very weak schedule and got absolutely throttled against Tennesssee.

From a talent perspective there is little to no difference. We have home court advantage and they have a coaching advantage. I’d expect that we will be 3-4 point favorites.

As another poster mentioned, this is a massive week. Going 2-0 and getting to 4-1 is very doable. Things will toughen up until late February after this week. Probably looking at going 1-3 against UGA, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tenn. Would be nice to be 5-4 instead of 3-6. Wheels may come off the bus if they go 0-2 this week

Fans have to be in it. Not going to win this game playing in a quiet arena. Gotta put pressure on them.

It will be interesting to see how LSU fares against their two 7’ footer’s. Our guards will have to find the open shooter rather than make a play at the basket tonight.

I'm shocked the latest line shows LSU (-3). I don't know about that; Ole Miss has played well consistently this season, save one loss @ Tenn, and LSU has not. LSU feels like an underdog tonight

EM spread on this game is Ole Miss +25 (that is team rating spread and not points spread). LSU has one win this season when the spread was 10 or greater, and that was A&M.

Not even close. Last year's LSU team was pure a@@, and even when it amassed a 12-1 record to start the season they never played well, and beat a couple of 300+ KenPom teams in that start by just 3 or 4 points. Ole Miss this year has looked dominant, save that 24-pt loss @ Tenn

Which one was more dominant? The 1 pt win vs Detroit Mercy, 3 pt win vs Sam Houston or 1 pt win vs Temple?

Ole miss is light years more talented than LSU. To give you an example Brandon Murray comes off the bench for them.!

How is LSU favored in vegas????!

Ole Miss will win this game tonight by double digits.

The 88-78 victory over Cal!
Them beating Memphis 80-77!

North Carolina State by 20!

Ya'll forget how awful LSU has looked this year!

LSU is favored by 3.5. Line stinks but Vegas knows something.

I mean...he averaged 12 points a game for the worst Georgetown team of all time. Yes, Ole Miss has more overall talent than LSU, but this does not put it over the top for me.

BTW, I think we'll beat them tonight.
