I've watched a few baseball interviews w/ Jay w/ no mention of Chase Shores. I remember he was pumping a high velo before injury. Does anyone know about his status on the pitching staff? Is this a slow play from injury and he's a year out?

He had TJ in like April of last year. He won’t be playing this year

If you see Shores at all it will be very late in the season, and in short appearances, similar to how we saw Coleman get eased back in. JJ has officially said anything that I know of though.

Jay has said once or twice they expect Noot back hopefully in April and if Shores comes back it wont be until very end of season basically - highly unlikely.

Don't remember exactly which interview it was said in but he said Noot is on track to be ready to pitch in March and they are shooting for Shores to be ready end of April/May.

Someone mentioned they saw Shores throwing in the bullpen at one of the scrimmages this past weekend.

The Coleman comparison is right on. I believe I’ve heard he has recovered ahead of normal pace but they have no intention of rushing anything. However he will be on the roster and that means they believe he will likely contribute late in the season.
If he is able to pitch late in the season he’ll be quite the addition.
I’d look for him the last couple weeks of May if there aren’t any setbacks.

I spoke to him personally before they left to CWS. He said earliest he could pitch would be SEC tourney.

You can probably do a search for his name on this board and get more exact updates from interviews. I wouldn't expect him to have a significant contribution at all next year and then let it be a pleasant surprise if he does.

He might be able to go for a couple innings a weekend during tourney time but I would count on him playing much more than that. As deep as this staff is there is no need be anything but cautious with with him.

Chase threw a bullpen session before Saturday's scrimmage. He looked comfortable out there throwing but it was pretty obvious that he was throwing at a reduced effort level and seemed to have a different arm slot than he used pre-injury.

Another observer asked him if the arm felt ok as he finished up in the bullpen and headed into the dugout and he nodded affirmatively.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. He will be out with TJ this year.

In this day in age there’s a chance they get something out of him late

Earliest I've seen is mid April. There's no reason to rush him back with the staff we have. We're lucky to be so stacked at pitcher. Crazy to have this much talent on one team.
