Hot take, however you treat a rule game one is exactly how you should handle a rule in game 70+.
People outraged by the refs not treating it special because it was a big game should never in the same breath criticize the inconsistency and poor quality of umpiring at this level.
We can’t say that they have terrible zones or don’t know what they’re doing, then be mad when they throw a coach out that was arguing balls and strikes, warned, walked further out to argue more, and then said very visibly “What are you going to do” directly to the ref after being warned.
Edit: Took me a second to find it, but exhibit A.
Jay Ejected for same thing a month ago.

Is that why he put 3 fingers
He told the ump he missed 3 fricking calls - he even said so in his presser

There are 200+ pitches in every game. If coaches/players were “allowed” to argue balls and strikes there would be dozens of arguments a game.

He got the explanation, was told to go back to the dugout, and STILL argued balls/strikes…after 8 pitches!
Those two bozos let the pressure of the game get to them…viewing everything through the prism of “disrespect.” The 1B coach didn’t get tossed right away, and the HC was given an opportunity to not get tossed. You cant go around screaming at everyone that you are a “big time program”…then meltdown at the first hint of adversity (first loss in 26 games)

If LSU wrote that statement, I’m pretty sure Sankey would lose it. It’s not acceptable behavior.

I thought it was a bit of a quick hook
from what I understand, after he told them frick you, the last time that they asked him to go back to dugout, he said "or what?"......they then tossed his arse, as they should have.

they actually did let him slide for longer than normal...but he was bound and determined to get pinched.

Perfect bosom buddies with ULL. They breed little man syndrome in that conference.

i keep seeing people acting like this was crazy and the only argument is that this was early in an important game…
go sit the frick down and don’t lose your shite early in an important game

My philosophy in my kitchen, and every kitchen I've ever worked/managed.
Don't come tell me that an order is for the owner's wife, mom, cousin, some politician, celebrity, blogger, etc.
I don't care who they are, I cook my food the same no matter what. A bum is getting the same quality as the President would.
You don't change your standards because of the situation. It's called in integrity.

The most ridiculous argument I’ve seen from CCU apologists is that the first inning was too early for the ejection.
BS! The first inning was too early for a coach to lose his mind and storm the field over a few pitch calls he disagreed with. Grow TF up. That’s why the game is 9 innings.

Jay said it best in the post game, “My team needed me to be calm and collected so I had to move on to the next pitch.” Their Coach is very short fused and once you hear the warning and was told to go back into the dugout 3 times you cannot make a comment like, “well you missed 3 pitches already.” That’s arguing balls and strikes and is going to result in an ejection there. He needed to move on. shite, if he didn’t say that comment and just said be consistent he probably is just told to go back into the dugout again.
Now, I will say the rules of college baseball are weird and do need adjusting. The hit by pitch needs to be looked at. If the ball is in the batters box you cannot reward the pitcher if the batter gets hit. The balk calls are still impossible to police. But regardless he knew the rule and cannot lose his temper there and put himself in a position where the ump could toss him.

Starting to think that assistant AD was being a punk and Sully got caught chewing him out.
I hate Florida and hate Sully but these fricks in Conway make me hate them a lot less.

Go back and watch it, it’s not just what he said but how he said it. That’s the kind of shite u say loudly to your self as u are walking back to the dugout and u still may get tossed but he was like in the umps face, saying frick u or something. He is like a dumb version of Tony Vitallo, who has actually learned to chill or pretend to chill more now

LSU fan but this doesn’t hold water. First, rule is bullshite. Created by candy arse umpires. They just decided they get to suck without questioning in the most influential area of the game Second, the base coach was warned according to that rule. The HC was dumped for coming out to ask for an explanation. When CJJ got tossed a few weeks ago we all said it was chicken shite. No different here…. Actually maybe worse given the situation.
Holy shite this is just straight up alternate reality bullshite. The assclown was warned several times and lacked the self control to not charge out onto the field screaming at the ump. If he just keeps yelling from the dugout he’s probably fine but you can’t charge out at the ump screaming AFTER multiple warnings. Then saying “or what?!” He fricking dared the ump to toss him and he did it

Why is a referee supposed to be in a position to “deescalate”?
