You are describing the sunk cost fallacy

Sunk costs are costs that have already been incurred and cannot be recovered. Therefore, it should not be a factor in current decision-making. It is irrational to use irrecoverable costs to justify a present decision. If we acted rationally, only future costs and benefits would be taken into account.

If firing him increases the cost of doing business by roughly 2.5x going forward, how the frick can it be an example of sunk cost? Surely you're smarter than this.

Correct, the money we owe CBK is sunk. He is getting paid regardless.

I'm convinced you're trolling at this point.

Sink cost fallacy would be “we have already paid him 30 million we can’t give up now

This is: Will we meaningfully get better if we have to pay 70 million dollars and a new coach? can we afford that?

It’s not a round if 8 for KSU and 1 of those 8 is the sec championship which we have win twice in the last 23 years. So our fate in a round of 7 is up to a selection committee.,Duh With our sos it’s going to be difficult as ever

His contract is essentially guaranteed. It is a sunk cost at this point. The only question is if we want to continue allowing him to coach the team. If we miss teh 12 team playoff again, it's a legitimate question.

Barring an injury at QB, there is no excuse next year.

That has to be a team making the playoff, IMO.

Do we really have the OC we want/need?
Play calling was sketchy and sometimes just did not make sense. I know the OL under-performed, and was probably THE biggest disappointment last season. Maybe it was because of a lack of run production that limited us?

Yes, running out of excuses. IF we can stay healthy, we should be in the playoff conversation for sure.

Please pay up the $60 million in advance so we are in position to do it after the Oklahoma game, push comes to shove.

You think we are the only team with this kind of talent, baw?

By his 10th year the clown show playoffs will be at 32 so he'll be flirting with possibly sneaking in

You’re never going to get that regardless of who the coach is. Sorry to burst your bubble but those days of college football where the same teams always win in over.

if you cannot run the ball, it’s hard to call plays in the redzone.

he should have left that defensive coordinator in Oxford after that embarrassing lost and I think the season would have turned out differently

11-2 instead of 10-3? They already had 2 losses and were out of the playoff hunt at that point.

If Baker can't figure out how to stop a mobile QB it won't.

LSU faced a mobile quarterback in week 3 against South Carolina. Outside of 1 busted assignment, two separate mobile quarterbacks combined for 20 carries for 24 yards.

LSU next faced a mobile quarterback in Jaxson Dart. He had 15 carries for 27 yards.

LSU again faced a mobile quarterback in Taylen Green. He had 6 carries for -10 yards.

All of that was done without the best quarterback spy in the country.

Then A&m benches their pro style quarterback and runs the triple option for a quarter and a half. Then Milroe tore us up, the only actual bad gameplan by the defensive staff all season.

If Sloan takes 12 games to figure out how to call an offense again, this will be yet another bomb by BK.

People confuse gameplans with execution far too much on this website.

we know how to stop a mobile QB, but we have players just not making the plays.

Go watch the A&M game.

We had a safety come
down to take the QB multiple times.

jones crashes in to chase the RB and the Burna came down to take the QB, and just stands there

Now the are other ways, but haveing 2 guys on the QB’s read side usually is a great way to stop read motion.

and that was the real issue, the QB option game put pressure on our safeties to make plays and they just sucked

the A&M tape is disgusting.

Almost always there is a safety who is supposed to make a play and just fails to.

I disagree. A 10-2 regular season record in the SEC translates to CFP berth. Almost certainly did in the 4 team format. Definitely in a 12 team bracket.

Right?
