Over coaching . The game was over.

Let them get the pick 6. Who knows what that little win will do for them.

If I'm a defensive player and I can score I'm taking it to the house

He’s being paid an astronomical salary and it’s his job to coach mistakes. Having said that the LSU defense needed that victory.

In most cases going down is the right call but in that situation I needed the points to cover my gambling habit.

Damn right. Y’all expect them to use too much brainpower when most of them can’t even tackle. BK needs to limit the thinking expected and let them play.
Get in the end zone!

I said the same thing as he was running toward the end zone.

Yes, the pick 6 effectively seals the game as well. But there is still an opportunity (however remote) for Mizzou to get a score and onside kick. If he goes down, we take a knee and the game ends.

It’s not really a knock on Burns though. I think very few college DBs have the discipline/situational awareness to take a knee there. Especially with a wide open path to the endzone. The upside of getting the interception far outweighs the downside of scoring, and I seriously doubt Kelly gave him too much grief about it considering it was a huge play.

Agree.

But the big reason to go down is you don't want to risk fumbling it back.

Since he scored it was a moot point.

I’m scoring if I’m Burns.

I had to sweat that final MO drive. A garbage TD would have killed my little parlay.

Yeah, f*** all that.

Your job is to think big thoughts and strategize.

As an LSU defender, my job is to get that ball and take it to the house!!!

Yeah, Vegas wasn't happy. With that pick 6 touchdown, LSU covered the spread

Let me pose 2 scenarios to you:
1. They run back the kickoff, onside kick, then have a little time left to chuck a few balls around and get it into the end zone and we lose.
2. They start on their 25, then get 2 long throws and kick a fg. They onside kick and get it and then tie it up with a hail mary vs our prevent defense. Game goes to OT and we COULD lose.

If Burns take a knee after the interception, then we take a knee and there's ZERO chance that we lose. With the way that they protect everyone on taking a knee now, there's never a fumble. They won't let the defense do like they did in the old days and tee off.

It looked like CBK was telling him on the sideline that he should have gone down vs running in back for a TD. Or am i way off base??

To take a knee was the right response but unless CBK briefed them on that in advance, he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

How about fumbling the snap trying to take a knee? I know you said it’s not possible, but it is, lol

Going down was the right thing to do. And no, the game was not over when he scored.

Burns was the hero. He saw an open run to the end zone (he went untouched). Played his arse off the entire game. Kelly needs to take a chill pill. He needs to figure out how to close out close games on offense instead of bitching about a great play by a defender. I get his point but if he's going to bitch about that he should look in the mirror at the way he screwed up the end of Ark. game. He had time to think the Arky ending through and still screwed it up. Nothing to see here IMHO. Great job by Burns!

Let me pose another scenario for you

A lightning bolt obliterates nothing but LSU players. Mizzou wins

I swear to god the shite y’all find to complain about
