Also Cam isn’t seeing any meaningful innings at OU, he started the year as the Saturday starter then lost that role, and hasn’t pitched in any SEC games. I don’t think we’ll see him this weekend. In his last 2 outings, 1.1 IP, 3H, 4ER, 1k, 7BBs.
I'm not saying he's done for the year, but he's looking close to it.
2.5 weeks ago he started a weekend game and got pulled after walking and hitting the first 2 batters. He came out for their mid-week game only to walk 4, hit 1 guy, gave up 2 hits and retired just 3 guys total. He then wasn't seen for 2 weeks until last night when he started the game against Texas Tech. 5 pitch walked the first guy, hit the 2nd batter after 7 pitches, 4 pitch walked the next guy, the 4th batter had a sac fly to the OF, the 5th batter he 4 pitch walked.
If you're keeping up that means he's retired 4 of the last 17 guys he's faced. 11 of the 13 to reach base were by the free pass.
He's completely lost it.

Thanks for posting. That was a great 45 minutes.

We also had players like Dugas, Beloso and Travinski that had been around for an eternity and were deep into the culture of the program.
This is why I think you see Jay put more emphasis on a guy like Josh Pearson as the only senior on the team who has been here all 4 years and play him more than most would expect. He's been through it all here and the new guys - whether via the portal or freshmen have to look up to someone whose been here for a while for the right kind of culture to have. Even the transfers from last year who stayed for this year (Braswell, Woods) have only been here under a bad culture year.

guess I’m confused by all of this here. What exactly is the inference? That ppl on last years team were downing the program and perhaps jay?
Did you listen to the interview ? It’s not that cryptic. Just because people didn’t feel the team was as close as this years does not mean it was dysfunctional.
Due to the transfer portal, building cohesive teams will not always be easy or natural.

Mentioned always wanting to take a dump before entering a game, was told to warm up when he was taking a dump in Missouri series

I figured last year's team had big issues when Jay had to take away the cell phones. Jay also mentioned having to deal with things he has never had to deal with before.
I can only assume several players from that team had a me first attitude instead of team first. Hopefully those guys are all gone. This year's team seems more team oriented from the outside looking in.

I know what he means about having to take a dump before something big about to happen
Studies have shown decreased cognitive function prior to BMs and increased function after BMs. Being full of shite doesn't help anything physically or mentally lol

it’s a great podcast.
Better with Mitchell still lived here and was in person. I feel like he doesn’t talk as much.

IMO it's important to have key components of Tiger teams filled by Louisiana kids that always dreamed of growing up and playing for LSU. That has been a staple of our past championship teams and we have young players who fit this same profile who are leading this team successfully.
You can't win championships with a team filled with a bunch of LA kids anymore like in the 90's. Completely different game now . Top contenders will have players from all over the country

Reading comprehension isn't your thing huh?
I said having key components of a championship team filled by LA kids not every roster spot filled by local boys.
Even Skip and PM's championship teams had out of state talent that played major roles. Just pointing out that the heart of those teams were kids from here that grew up dreaming about playing for LSU.

Is Travinski playing pro ball?

Griffin Cooley’s name was mentioned in another thread as someone who didn’t get along with some of the upperclassmen.

Hindsight is 20/20, but cam Johnson should have taken the money out of high school.
He’ll prob get drafted based on measurables alone but unless he gets it together next year he’s not getting a 7 figure offer again.

It’s always worth it to tune in to Mikie and Mitch whenever they have players or coaches on. The rest of their show isnt that great IMO.

I hope we see him this weekend!
Sounds like he could put a few people on Base, for a free ride!

I think Justin loer (Rockies 13th round) didn’t get from Jay the same kind of heartfelt goodbye that others who were drafted got. Maybe he is among those who contributed to a disparate team?

Sounds like it isn't your thing bc i didn't say every spot. 2-3 kids yea but 10-12 LA kids on a team like LSU isn't happening. There just aren't enough players good enough in LA to do that for a program like LSU. It's the same in every sport now because of these dumbass transfer rules and NIL. For instance Tenn has 1 player in their starting lineup from Tenn. Their championship team last year had 4.

He mentioned everyone hates the bullpen.
Major renovation is coming next year again.
One two pitchers can warmup
