Can we agree Jones is out of the slump?

2 hits including a HR. If the bear can be bare, this team could be dangerous.

No because sandwiched between those two hits was a shitshow AB.

He’s a power hitter and will strike out more than other batters. But I’ll take 2 hits including a HR and 2 strikeouts every game if I could get it from him so I’m optimistic he’s on the way back up!

Why do LSU fans always need to think in terms of absolutes? We have to only be this or only be that. We have to have “this” identity. He is or isn’t this or that. Sports are fluid man. Matchups change everything. Just be a fan and enjoy the ride. Stop nitpicking the hell out of all these things that aren’t in our control.
I support Bear and I know he’ll come through next weekend!

Until he sees 3 consecutive curveballs next week

Given that the hits were against the utterly depleted and exhausted bullpen of a bottom tier Ohio Valley Conference team I would not say that I can agree quite yet, but hitting is such a matter of confidence that it just might do the trick, we'll see.

No.
He is a power hitter. Last night he hit his first XBH in over 2 weeks.
He has routinely looked bad at the plate lately.
He is extending the zone and swinging at trash.
When he gets back to showing plate discipline, and controlling the strike zone. He will be dominant again. I hope that is this week.

Bear has typically hit bad pitching.

My thoughts as well. He broke out last night but it was against mediocre pitching. Let’s see what he does against West Virginia’s day 1 and day 2 pitching. Hopefully he barrels one up early and settles in.

I strongly suspect Jay will keep him in the six spot this weekend. Last night, he showed signs of returning to form and that is a positive.

It is of course promising to see him square up that HR, but he needs to stay right there in the #6 spot. It lengthens the lineup and puts less pressure on him in the #2 spot. See the ball, hit the ball.
PS Our #2 hitter Frey is hitting his stride, and I hope he does not look back. He has that Wyatt Langford build and swagger to him. Almost like must see TV when he comes to bat as you want to see where he is going to press it.

I hope so but I'm cautiously realistic that he has had a big kill and runs back into the cave
