Can the gameday atmosphere be fixed?

It’s disappointing to see so many threads pop up about tailgating being thinned out, crowds leaving close games, and empty seats along the sidelines.
The multitude of reasons I have seen mentioned are all contributing factors. The question is, can it be changed?
I think one of the biggest flaws is not so much an LSU problem, but a national one. People just don’t feel the need to go to these games. You’re seeing the same problems hit Alabama and other dominant schools. The Penn State whiteout was an exception. I’m sure other programs that haven’t won a title recently are chomping at the bit too.
I guess I’m an old 35. I couldn’t fathom leaving a game early to go drink some more, or because there was a Tigerland party, or because WiFi sucks.
When I was a student, there was a buzz throughout the week for any game that could be considered big. Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss…didn’t matter. Seems like the students don’t seem to care as much, and the older folks have been driven away by prices and political BS.
Is there any hope for a turnaround?

Fix the product on the field and the rest takes care of itself

Yes- when the attendance is down so bad the admin will come crawling back because all the money is gone. The restrictions will be gone and they’ll take their hands out the pot.. until we get successful again.. then they’ll put their greedy paws back in and we’ll start this cycle all over again.

The other night the crowd looked like that Progressive Turning into Your Parents commercial.
"We still planning to head out around the third quarter?"

Any idiot can understand that having the band play is so much better than that piped in crap between plays. I guess they just don't want to fix it.
It's unfathomable that they won't revert back to letting the band play. It was a great part of the tradition.

Honestly? It's more than just an LSU problem. Games these days are to easily attainable for people to have to deal with the headaches that attending the game ensue.

There is a group of fans that leave at the end of the 3rd quarter regardless of opponent or score.
Been that way forever.

It’s far from just an LSU problem. People just no longer want to spend that kind of money when you can watch it comfortably on a big screen at home.

Replace O and all staff with competent, experienced football coaches. Remove the leftist restrictions and BS.

The atmosphere is a reflection of the fans. Can the fans be fixed?

I know it’s just game day concessions blah blah, but I had the worst hot dog I’ve ever eaten at a sporting event.

There are no restrictions that are of any real inconvenience. You show ID to vote, you can show a vaccination card.

I can confirm as a student that our students suck. Don’t give a shite about football just wanna party and drink and claim they go to a big SEC school

You have never had to show your id to get into tiger stadium.. not going to start now

As much as I want to say it’s the product on the field, I’d say the Covid Protocol is probably what keeps out most of the usual crowd.
FWIR: The student section was full and the East Stands (no usual pan of the West Stands) was somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 full.

3 minute and 10 second commercial breaks are ridiculously long for being in stadium.

It's not the biggest problem. But it is a problem LSU inflicts on itself.

Starting with: (and this is besides the product on the field)
traffic -- effective, well communicated contraflow
tailgating -- get rid of the obstacles to tailgate
stadium atmosphere -- better concessions, less canned music, more tiger band...
and that's just to start

When I went to Austin for the game in 2019, my UT buddy showed me all around campus and everything they had done to overall the gameday experience. Bevo Boulevard was really impressive and a complete 180 from the last time I'd seen a game there, where the experience was--well, a lot like ours today.
Something has to be done. Thankfully I don't have to make any of those decisions, but personally I think they could do something with the PMAC space. Build a new PMAC on the site of where Parker Coliseum currently is, and turn the existing one into some sort of plaza for tailgating, concerts, college gameday, food trucks, etc. Just a very vague thought.
