3 minute and 10 second commercial breaks are ridiculously long for being in stadium.

These were terrible. I was at the game and noticed multiple occasions where one minute of game time elapsed before a second, 3 minute timeout

I agree with this post. The RV lot was practically empty. Not many big tailgates going on. A lot of the big corporate tailgates that draw a lot of people aren't happening. I'm sure the cause is multiple factors like the oilfield being down the last several years and the pandemic dragging on. But a lot of it has to do with LSU too. Got rid of parking on side of the road and free parking close so people don't tailgate as much close to the stadium. Prices keep going up every year for everything. Traffic is worse every year with fewer cops directing traffic before the games.

For a family of four: Season tickets in the endzone, drinks, food, etc. is easy $550-$600 a weekend. You can buy a 70" TV for $700 and party at home. The draw to go to the game is getting less and less tempting. Prices won't change so the only thing will be a dominant program.

I’ve been saying for awhile that the future is tearing seats out and replacing them with Suites. The East and West huge wings are the past and the South EZ expansion looks like the future. Less people but revenue the same or increased.

.

While your stats may be true, I don't buy price as a cause to the shitty atmosphere and attendance. Thousands left in droves at...HALFTIME. That has nothing to do with cost and everything to do with the in-game experience and the product on the field.

They're just as long if you're watching from home...

The other night the crowd looked like that Progressive Turning into Your Parents commercial.

"We still planning to head out around the third quarter?"

"We should leave now to beat the traffic."

Starting with: (and this is besides the product on the field)

traffic -- effective, well communicated contraflow

tailgating -- get rid of the obstacles to tailgate

stadium atmosphere -- better concessions, less canned music, more tiger band...

and that's just to start

The overall gameday experience has changed for the worse, which includes these issues. This is not the same place it was a few years ago.

Reduce the total capacity to 85K, with nicer and roomier seating. The days of 100K fans attending is gone and not coming back.

Wrong...in the 60's, that is all we had to show. Didn't need a ticket. Paid for that at registration for all LSU sporting events. $35 for the year as I recall.

People want to blame the product on the field, and that is an absolute cop out.

The atmosphere sucks because the administration has turned LSU into as generic of a money-making experience as possible. They have shunned long-time tailgaters and gamegoers in favor of attempting to keep up with the Joneses, and now it's coming back to bite them.

There was no reason to expand Tiger Stadium to 102,000...and when you are that large and families STILL can't afford to bring two or three kids to the game, that's problematic.

We sold our soul to corporations that won't be there when times are tough. The university has gone all-in on equity and diversity, and simply does not care about a large portion of the fanbase because of optics.

I would love to see the atmosphere return, but when LSU starts charging for the hayfield lot, then changes it to staff parking because no one paid to park there, then turned it back into free parking this year but you can't park there until after 4 p.m. on a gameday, there is just too much absurdity and self-righteousness to recapture anything. Add to that we are now living in an age where players are all mercenaries for the most part and have no state loyalty, and its a recipe for disaster.

BINGO! I hate the piped in music. Let the GBFTL take care of business.

It’s far from just an LSU problem. People just no longer want to spend that kind of money when you can watch it comfortably on a big screen at home.

While there definitely is some truth to this, we had some great crowds during the 2019 season. A lot has to do with the poor product that's on the field. Most fans know that we have way too much talent on the roster to be playing the way we are. Orgeron has been exposed for the poor coach that he is, and it's clear that he has no idea how to fix the problems. Get rid of the Ogre, clean house on both sides of the ball, and bring in a coach who fans can get excited about.

At 35 you were in school for the 03-09 years most likely. You caught the tail end of the glory days in the stadium. Also as a student, you could get shite hammered until 1:45, do the reggies swoop, go smash, and sleep until the 12 kickoff games on Sunday. You had no responsibilities.

Truly the glory days of our youth

When you cater to people who are not diehards and don't have skin in the game to "enhance the gameday experience" this is what happens. The attempt to overreach and pull in every dollar has a ceiling. Now that you have lost those individuals, the people that you alienated have no desire to come back to something that wasn't appealing to them. There should not be any surprise to this, but LSU wants to keep sending out satisfaction surveys to find out why no one wants to be in the stadium anymore.
