The thing about Jones is even if he is hit at LOS or even behind it he still gets 3yds. Would love to see stat on how many negative running plays there were. Don’t remember seeing any when he was in the game.

We’ve had one year wonders before and we’ve had at least one 5 star RB that never panned out (primarily due to annual injuries).
It’s disappointing to see, but that’s football.

It was nice to see a rb stay in when he’s got the hot hand and in a rhythm. 18 carries in the first half! He looked great.

Durham has not looked at all the same since his foot injury.
Seems like goes down at first contact every time

Nor is Frank coming through that door

Durham needs to be more decisive and just go. Stuttering behind the line ain't gonna cut it - especially since seems to have lost a step since his injury.

They ran well in camp by all accounts including Lane’s. Pass pro is the issue and Lane didn’t want any problem there last night. They will get time moving forward but if DJ can handle the volume that’s what Kiffin prefers. If Durham and Berry get 65-75 rushes each that will be a good season for both.

They gotta learn how to block rushers

I believe it has more to do with coaching last year. Jones had better RB coaching and had less to learn. Caden and Harlem had bad habits that this coaching staff had to break and then start coaching them right. Look at how the RB room has been for several years vs last night. I think the same can be said for OL play. Better coaching and play calling to their strengths!

They will probably get serious playing time next week in the second half of th La Tech game...

I am puzzled by Berry. He is obviously explosive, but can't seem to find the field often.
* Can't block.
* Has trouble finding the right OL hole.
* Doesn't know the playbook.
FW aint here any longer.
KS don't put up with that BS.

Jones breaks tackles, the other two drop as soon as they are touched

Gage didn’t look that great. Durham can still be in the mix if he steps it up. I figured Harlem would be used as more of gadget weapon but they gave those plays to Winnie Watkins last night on the motion jet sweeps.

Gage averages 4.1 ypc, he did great in
Pass
Protection
He had a solid game
As RB2

Was I the only one that was surpised to see Gage playing before Berry and Durham? I thought there might be some injury concerns for one or both. I would have liked to see them run behind he 1st team OL in the 2nd or 3rd period up by 28. I have more concern now for that position than I did pre game.

Both looked lazy and disinterested.
