It is great to have this decided, even though some will perceive that the decision was "backed-into".

The guys on the field saw that the battle was being won by Burrow.

Fortunately, Brennan and his family knew this outcome was most likely, all along. They are looking at the big picture and they love LSU.

You can't blame McMillan. He needed to retain his future opportunities. Staying was low likelihood of yielding him a chance. He earned his degree and a fresh opportunity.

I have mixed feelings regarding the counsel Lowell might have gotten in making his call, but he made his call, so good luck.

It's the Joe Burrow Show.

EVERYONE, including Coach O and Coach E, viewed Burrow as the likely winner of the competition all along. Kudos for giving a package and promise to Narcisse, but it's a passing-heavy offensive plan, and Narcisse has not had a chance to show he can see the field and read an SEC defense, so he's to risky to give the reigns to.

Burrow earned the position. He and McMillan were the prime starter options, so there was only room for one.

Myles needs development in size and play. Now, it will be him getting extra reps and attention and some game snaps to support his increased development and readiness.

Anyone saying otherwise hasn't been objective, or hasn't been paying attention.

Burrow is the decisive winner of the 2018 QB battle.

The battle is over. Any psychological baggage is eliminated with this week's ongoings and decisions.

Full steam on the Burrow train.

Geaux Tigers :-)

agreed on all fronts

Burrow came in as a hired gun. He was winning the job from the day he committed. Thinking otherwise is silly.
JM leaving absolutely makes sense, he has graduated and wants an opportunity to play.
LN leaving is just plain stupid. He was guaranteed playing time with a special package and would be battling for the backup job once JM left. If Burrow has an outstanding 2018 he could very well leave for the NFL. That would leave LN in a great position to become a starter as a RS Sophomore.

Amazingly many here disagreed. Though many on the Rant aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

To be fair to the coaching staff on Narcisse, he really has not played in a game since his junior year of HS and even that was a shortened year. Signing him was a reach in hindsight

Very well put. I am so glad this didn’t get dragged out into the fall. Burrows must have shown he was way ahead and the coaches were decisive and made the choice. Now the team can move on, with no more distractions and allow Burrow and Brennan get the extra reps they need. This has been great news To come out of practice. Good luck to the two QBs leaving. Geaux Tigers!

Who disagreed? I haven't seen one post saying anyone else but Burrow would be the starter.

You didn't see the 40 threads saying that it was neck and neck between he and McMillian?

Burrow has looked really good in practice. Lowell and Justin saw it and knew he was undoubtedly the best QB and they weren't going to beat him out. Brennan knows he has time to continue to develop and sees an opportunity for him to step in once Burrow is gone.

Doubt they had the up close view of Burrow (performing) as did LN and JM.

Yes Sir, Bert, spot on. I'm so very thankful we will have a QUARTERBACK that will make the right decisions and is accurate.

Nobody said they were going to start though. Y'all have pretty terrible reading comprehension.

Anytime it looked good for McMillan, the O haters were here to trash him.

I truly understand why McMillan left but Norcisse as of now is a head scratcher. If he transfers to a power 5 conference, he has to sit out a year. If he goes to Juco, then another team, he has to relearn the play book and fight for a Job in 2019. His situation would be the same regardless.

I actually saw posters guarantee McMillan would be the starter. Look like you have terrible reading comprehension.

McMillan blundered by waiting until two weeks before the season to transfer. He was either supremely confident that he would win the job or just couldn't read the writing on the wall.

I wish him well but can't imagine a course that has him playing significant football in 2018 unless he opts for a small program and even that is problematic at this juncture.

correct... hell brennan could take a redshirt this year if he wanted to and gain more pounds and still have 3 years of starting if burrow leaves for nfl, or two years of starting if he doesnt...
