I would normally chalk it up to that if the very few posters with actual intel weren’t suggesting major donors are pissed. It feels like a lot of cracks are coming up in the organization.
Again, like many have stated in the thread it’s not merely because he took a day or two off. It’s because Brian Kelly, for his salary, evidently takes A LOT of time off. It’s just horrible optics when we look this incompetent.

Saban took his vacation to his Georgia lake house in the middle of the summer. Never during the football season.

Now Nick Saban had a house on the lake so his vacation would just be there to recharge the batteries but a lot of Coaches take a small family/trip/vacation/break on the bye week. That doesn't mean he doesn't attend the practices they do have but they usually have off Friday-Sunday of the bye week.
This is not the story you think it is.
You're comparing BK to the greatest CFB coach of all time. He could do that because his teams kept improving and winning.
BK hasnt beat a P4 team with a winning record this season and the team is clearly not improving.

We had a guy that never took a vacation

And the vacation is just the tip of what is transpiring...

i can tell you that did not happen in the mid 1990s....
team still practiced...
coaches did self scout that week.
we might work on the following week's opponent, but primarily self scout.
coaches went on recruiting visits.

Are people just throwing site up to make everybody feel mad.
The coach fricked the realtor, took vacation during the bye week?
What's next, he send the playbook to the opposing coach?

If he does the same for the Bama bye week, he's toast! So Kelly, do us a favor and go "Fly the friendly skies!"

It’s a total non-story if you’re winning and things are firing on cylinders. It only becomes a story (and part of a bigger narrative) when the program isn’t meeting expectations.
Couldn’t agree with this more. He’s a bag of lazy bones. If he had a National Title under his belt, he could do whatever the f he wants at least for season or two after

He’s rubbing our nose in his shitty contract.
LSU should fire him and sue for breach of contract.

Brian Kelly might as well wear a Hawaiian to the game on Saturday night while we get dismantled by TAMU.

I’m revoking some of my NIL money just hearing this. Unacceptable.

My understanding is many coaches do this during bye weeks

Belichick did that with the girlfriend and UNC was pissed
Not that I agree with either, but Bill has won 6 Super Bowls, and Brian Kelly has won nothing. Let's focus on the idiot we have, not the UNC circus.

love this board. They can’t conceive of a job where an employee doesn’t punch a time card and only gets a 45 min lunch break.
Worked for two major top 700 corps on C level. Never punched clock , but time off always had to be scheduled and corp always had black out weeks.
Taking off during crucial corporate times would get you fired if you were dumb enough to do it.
Don't be so quick to judge others you know nothing about

Don’t see how that’d be harmful to LSU.

IF true, that should be cause for termination.
Well that depends. You’d have to look at the contract specifics.
Typical “for cause” grounds for termination in a college head football coach contract include (but are not limited to): (1) violating NCAA rules, conference rules, institutional rules (e.g., recruiting violations, academic misconduct); (2) misconduct, criminal offenses, moral turpitude/depravity (bringing ridicule or harm to institution’s reputation, e.g., Bobby Petrino’s first go at Arkansas or, more recently, Mel Tucker at Sparty); and (3) neglect of duties, gross dereliction of duties, misuse of funds, or failure to maintain program compliance or control personnel.
More often than not, poor performance alone is not adequate grounds for “for cause” termination—it depends on whether the contract includes it and how broadly or vague “cause” is defined.
If a two-day weekend vacation classifies as “neglect,” then that’s the best argument for a “for cause” termination of CBK. Otherwise, he has not done anything to be terminated for cause based on all information we have available to us.

Actually gives me hope.

His assistants should be doing most of the recruiting. I mean it’s a non-stop job and Hes involved.
During the season seems like a bad time to me though.

It happened according to the insiders on the On3 board, and according to them it's just the tip of the iceberg.
