I thought it was already! No game should ever be played before 7pm in Death Valley!

12 degrees but heat index is about the same
is your contention that day games in that heat is not dangerous to fans? you realize it was ~130* on the turf and in the concrete stands right?
where you there? if not your opinion means shite, it was dangerous.

How many games does Arizona have that are nationally televised?
umm...pretty much all games are national televised now? is it your contention that having the game on abc mid day is something special?

It’s been hot in September in Louisiana since the beginning of time. Stop being cucks and man up or don’t go to the games if it’s too hot. We don’t need government control over a football schedule.
umm your right, that is why we played games at night dumbass
but now with tv contracts we dont get to pick. only option is a law
nobody is being a cuck dumb frick.
did you go to the game? if not stfu because you have no idea wtf you are talking about
i have been to plenty in the stadium that were stupid hot, 2001 florida and 2015 auburn prolly the two that standout for being the hottest directly in the sun along with utah state in 2019
this was worse then them. way worse than the katrina game against UT, way worse than 97 florida, way worse than any game i have ever been to and i been to a lot.
it is dangerous for the fans, especially older fans, to have games at that time. it is not a good experience for the fan or the team or visitors. we do need the law
and unless you have season tickets on the east side or contribute financially big time...you can shut the frick up because your opinion means jack shite

when you’ve got a movie theatre’s worth of people who end up having to seek medical attention because of the broadcasters, you absolutely do.

No the frick it wasn’t
I’d people ever get off their asses & go outside during the summer, it’s pretty easy to acclimate to the heat.

Thank you.
It’s no hotter now than it’s ever been, and all of a sudden we need the government to mandate when we can and can’t play football games? Pathetic.
What’s going to happen if/when all of the schools in the “hot” climates do this?

umm they had a thermometer on the sidelines and its was 130 on the turf and on the grass on the field it was 100.
and dude im off my arse workout all the time and am in the heat...that was brutal and not everyone is you nor I.
fricking stupid a retired 65 year old grandpa cant go enjoy the game because .....we have to have it at 230 as the networks say
wtf is your issue with this law? is it government overreach? normally i would agree but the 230 games put those in the stands in a bad spot if its hot that day. there is a reason 70+ had to get medical treatment.
Posted on 9/27/24 at 12:49 pm to Jack Crevalle
Not sure why anyone would oppose or mock this.
It's not about getting on primetime TV, it's just common sense considering the environment. We're having heat advisories saying to limit activity at those times, and then currently scheduling athletic events at an open air 100k stadium.
That's the reason we have a history of night games in Tiger Stadium in the first place; the broadcast advantage was merely coincidence

I agree....but....if the legislature had any balls, they would make this law for ALL LSU football games.
This would put LSU either in the primetime slot on ESPN/ABC or SEC Network, or +. It would make the most sense to stick it to the TV contracts that way to give LSU prime time exposure at night always! The way it should be!

It’s exactly what it is about.
Let’s have the government mandate the times you can start tailgating too while they’re at it with these unprecedented hot, unsafe temperatures.

This is fricking retarded. It’s hot in South Louisiana, always has been always will be. Plan accordingly, it’s really that simple.
It seems like they HAVE planned accordingly. LSU has always had night games, and for a long stretch of our history, there was no advantage to that as far as media coverage. The AP and UPI wire services would have most of their stories and coverage complete for the day, prior to LSU finishing their games. Most of the national coverage the next day would be about other teams because of that. Yes, LSU did have the benefit of WWL being a Clear Channel AM station that could broadcast the games to half the nation (that wasn't just a company title, it was a specific radio station designation back then), but that wasn't the reason we played at nights.
If it requires a law to do so, that just reflects on the networks and their fixation of dollar-first, and Louisiana has no other avenue.

Terrible idea.....the last thing we need is for the state legislature to start passing laws that tell LSU Athletics what to do with football games. LSU has these games scheduled when they are because LSU WANTS THOSE GAMES SCHEDULED AT THOSE TIMES. ALL LSU NEEDS TO DO IS SAY NO (and not accept the TV money/contracts). It is deceptive for anyone at LSU (including Woodward) to put the blame for day games on anyone but LSU.

Then that leaves only November so might as well throw November in there too.
Nah. I actually love 2:30 games in November. It can be arse-cold at night in November, but I am fond of a lovely late afternoon fall game with temps in the 50's til the sun sets.
