Coach speak. The portal has changed the landscape of predictions, but he needs a big time recruit or two on the Dline this year to give us a chance to be elite next year. We lose Mason and Wingo (assuming he has a good year).

Womack was a great pickup last year and both Savion Jones and Quincy Wiggins look ready for a breakout year.Simmons is a beast on the end, but looks like we are in a bidding war with Texas for him. The end spots look strong. Not so much on the interior. Really need a stud pickup on the inside this year. Hoping we land McKinley and another. Here is our current depth chart:

DE
Jones, Sai'vion JR,
Shand, Paris RS JR/TR
Wiggins, Quency RS FR
Womack, Da'Shawn FR
Carpenter, Dylan FR

NT
Wingo, Mekhi JR/TR
Guillory, Jacobian RS JR
Lee, Jalen RS JR/TR
West Jr., Fitzgerald RS FR

DT
Smith, Maason RS SO
Jefferson, Jordan RS SR/TR
Hill, Tygee RS FR
Langston, Bryce RS SO

Agreed but the schedule sets up much better this year than nex. Our schedule in 24 is tuff.

Great teams don’t have tough schedules; they have opponents with tough schedules.

Football is such a different game than baseball or basketball. In those sports, one or two superstars can get you over the top.

Two superstars can get you over the top in baseball? I don’t think so. A great pitcher only appears once every four or five games, and a great hitter is only involved in 11% of the offense.

I can see some of our posters didn’t learn shite from our baseball season. JJ had never won a championship either, till he did.

The bottom line is they are going to be very competitive and very much a potential contender. No one should come out and say yea we are set to win it all this year, that doesn’t do anyone at LSU any good. He needs to hammer into everyone’s heads that this is going to be a monumental task and we have to rise to the challenge every day.

There will be questions if we don’t seriously compete for a championship this year. With wide open recruiting and transfer portal, can’t use the roster excuse.

I think that speech was intended for his players ears more than anyone else. "Oh yeah coach? hold my beer"

Why is that funny?

We were one Aggie and UGA game away from going. Will you be happy with the same result this next season?

I’m a GVSU alumni and his impact on that program is like what saban did for lsu. They weren’t shite before him and ever since they’ve just continued to win with the foundation he built.

I’m sure you think we’d be in a better position if we’d only given 0 a little more time. After all, he clearly showed his ability to build a championship caliber program while at Ole Miss.

The pressure is on Kelly. No excuses!

So don’t listen to a coach that has been around football for 30 years of coaching and development?

He should lie like all of the prior coaches each year saying that it’s the best team they have ever been around?

The guy knows what he sees. He didn’t say we are gonna suck. Just said we are a year away from the right team that he is looking for with no holes

I think the program is in great hands

Why?

We snuck up on some folks last year. It won’t happen this season.

In addition, the UT and A$M losses show the team is still growing under Kelly. It takes time.

Some of y’all really don’t understand how much BK and this team overachieved last year. We had absolutely no business winning the west with our depth. Kelly understands there’s a possibility of coming back down to earth while still building up the roster *the right way*. There’s nothing wrong with that unless you’re an absolute mouth breather that gets mad if LSU doesn’t win the title every year.

He’s just not being a bitch and playing the underdog card like Bama and Georgia.

Outside of our fan base, all the media and people knew was Skenes and Crews. That is until the CWS.
