LINK to Press Conference

Tidbits:
- LSU (9-3) travels to Atlanta on Saturday to face No. 1 Georgia (12-0) in the SEC Championship Game. Kickoff is at 3pm CT. The game will be televised by CBS.

- LSU leads the overall series with Georgia, 18-13-1, including winning the last two meetings. LSU is 3-1 against Georgia in SEC Championship games.

- Injury Updates:
Jayden Daniels: tweaked his ankle and is in walking boot...will be examined tomorrow...will practice Tuesday if everything ok

Josh Williams: expected to play against UGA

Jarrick Bernard-Converse: will practice on Tuesday (non-contact) and is expected to play

- Lots of things going on starting December 5 regarding the roster: transfer portal opens up, who is going pro, who is transfering, what are holes to fill, early signing day is December 21, etc.

- Has a plan to stop Brock Bowers (UGA stud tight end), but acknowledges that it will be difficult

- Kelly likes bringing former players back to be a part of the program.

- Players are very upset at loss to A&M...Kelly expects team to bounce back.

- Regarding John Emery bouncing back with 3 touchdowns vs A&M: Kelly realizes that running back depth is not where it needs to be so it was important that Emery stayed in the fold despite recent fumbling issues.

- Regarding UGA's defense: physical, athletic, good tacklers...No. 1 scoring defense in the country

Daniels currently in a walking boot, will undergo a manual exam tomorrow.

Could these questions be any softer? BR media is a joke.

The only time the BR media wants to go all in is when a “scandal” appears. Nothing to do with actual football issues. This should be one of the most pointed press conferences of the year.

Instead we get “Brian, when do you think your process started to take hold?” For the 100th time.

Do we need hard hitting press conference for a coach of a football team?

I will never understand why the media completely avoid questions that obviously need to be asked. It's literally a win win for them, they really don't have to do much prep for it because it's just right there waiting to be asked and they're much more likely to get a soundbite or clicks as opposed to these bullshite questions

Media asks soft/dumb questions for several reasons:
1. Don't know what to ask. Reporter may not have decades of college football mega-fan background. Doesn't read tRant 5 times a day to know what the big controversial/insightful questions are
2. Hard questions don't get you more access to the program, better relationship with coaches and players. they start to dislike reporters that "ask the tough questions".

After a humiliating loss against the worst team in the SEC?

Yeah, we do.

I don’t think we will score more than 10 pts. They will attack Jayden Daniels all night and he’ll never get a pass off. They also have the speed to neutralize his legs somewhat.

Interesting to see how we handle Bowers. Do you put Perkins on him a lot or save Perkins for getting after the QB and put a Baskerville or maybe even a Mekhi Garner on him (he’s 220 lbs and physical)?

I am just happy to be there and don’t have high expectations.

Watch how great LSU will play Saturday. They were embarrassed by aTm last week and will play like their arse is on fire. Georgia will get exposed.

Is the QB rushing more times than the top wr and rb combined actually get the ball part of the alignment?

For most of the year our OL has been in shambles. So, QB runs have extended drives but also translated into big gains. We unfortunately didn’t have a healthy/game breaking RB(s)

Agree, we need hard nose journalists like Culotta or T-Bob to ask the tough intriguing questions!!

I would like to know if the officials or the conference ever explained why they picked up the flag on the PI call on Jenkins. Did anyone ask that?

One question I would ask is this:

“Brian, given Texas A&M’s complete offensive identity revolving around Achane what exactly was the gameplan defensively to keep him in check?”

What in game adjustments did you attempt? Or was this just a case of poor execution?”

Because they’ll be put in time out IF they ask a tough question.
