Big picture I agree. But bringing in a guy like Underwood always buys a coach a year or 2 with a fanbase.

I see this opener with USC as a playoff game for LSU. A loss here and the playoffs are highly unlikely. A win here, 10-2 is very doable. 10-2 gets you on the playoff bubble.

My preseason prediction is 11-1 and we host a playoff game. We beat Ole Miss and Alabama but lose on the road to aTm.

We don’t have 8 years?

You ok buddy?

I think BK walked into a worse situation than Lincoln heading into the first season. I think where LSU is now is talent wise much better than USC. I think Blake gets this defense fixed. I just worry it’s not ready yet.

I think the defense will be fine. My biggest worry is turnovers. Whether it's fumbles or Nuss throwing interceptions. I worry about turnovers. If there are no turnovers LSU beats USC. If LSU is -1 in the turnover battle it's iffy. If LSU is +1, LSU wins by 10.

So many LSU fans have NO IDEA about building a Football program.
Like someone possted earlier ,it took Kirby 5 yrs and Jim Harbaugh 8yrs
Dabo 6 or 7YRS to build a championship level program.BK inherited a
shatshow yet his 1st yr won 10 games with no depth.Once he has 4 SOLID
recruiting classes then he can have the overall talent to compete week in
and out for nr national honors. This is just yr3 with 2 really good classe.
It will take 2 more great classes to get where we want to consistantly.
Nick was a perfect example of a championship doesnt mean your program
is elite. In NSs 4th yr he lost 4 games.ED O won the natty and the following
2 yrs without depth and player losses he sucked. I want BK to build a
program not a team.

And people shite on him every single year.

Dabo took over Clemson, not a program 2 years removed from a national championship

Fans aren't even asking for a national championship, most are asking for a playoff appearance.

It's not losing the opener that has bothered me. It's BK looking completely surprised and shell shocked after the game at the press conference. He's the guy who is in control and has access to every practice and should know exactly where we are as a team. Yet we came out 2 years in a row looking like the Keystone Cops. If a good team beats you, and you look competent, then I have no problem. But if they continue to take 3 games to start playing as a team, then that's purely on the head coach.

But he won't be on a hot seat. He's too rich for that. Hopefully this year is decent and we have many kids who take a few leaps forward so that next year really shines. Defense still feels very inadequate. Hopefully they're at least coached.

I agree. After losing to FSU last year he made it seem like they misjudged themselves and their opponent very severely. They came out and looked like they didn't even belong on the same field.

I want to see them win some physical one-on-one matchups this game.

Saban won the national championship in his fourth season at LSU. If you are referring to his fifth season, he went 9-2 in the regular season, 9-3 if you include the bowl game.

You don’t build a team in your image thru 2.5 recruiting classes on a ln inherited roster with 40 scholarship players lmao

Which is just so weird. The guy is clearly a better coach than Les or O. It would be wild if BK can’t get it done here.

Too many good players to not have a chance to make the playoffs.

You seem to forget about the portal. He was able to get a Heisman winning Qb that way and can/should rebuild other areas of need.

I think most people are seeing the game against USC as a chance to show advancement in building your program. Don't come out looking like a deer in headlights like the last two seasons. We know the SEC slate will be a gauntlet, but damnit quite embarrassing us about OOC opponents.

No I never said that. There’s a huge difference between a 9-3 team and a teams that can get through a 12 team playoff and win a national championship.

yeah but there isn’t a huge difference between a 9-3 team that makes the playoffs and a 9-3 team that misses the playoffs.
