4a in Mississippi is not what I would call awful high school football…..

I mean I believe in Brennan as much as anyone. But if you're going to let a comparison of high school stats dictate your judgement over what you see every week with your own eyes then you probably should have a caretaker

If your eyes tell you Johnson is the better QB then you attend the Hellen Keller school of the blind. He can't complete more than 5 passes over 10 yards in a game.

Please tell me you're not serious with this...
I mean, come on.

There are many Rantards here that believe Max Johnson is the best QB on the roster. That's what is unbelievable.

As a pocket qb - no.
As a dual threat qb - maybe.
I’m still not sure why we haven’t seen more designed runs of RPOs.
I suppose the staff figured that if we ran a pro-style offense centerEd around a pocket passer then things would go smoothly upon Brennan’s return. The team would all be on the same page so to speak. As such, Max is a square peg in a round hole (think Les Miles).
Lastly, Brennan played shite competition in HS.
They were destroyed twice by VERY average Brother Martin teams.
I hope that he comes back, stays healthy, and balls out. Time will tell.

Didn't watch Brennan in HS. Max played in a pretty conservative offense. Only weapon he had was his brother.
I still don't think he's great but can't really draw much conclusion just on that stat line

Max is easily the more mobile and better runner of the 2 but Brennan does everything else much more effectively including throwing on the run.

Pay for some offensive lineman to protect the man then!

You know we've actually seen these guys play in college, right?
While NEITHER is Lamar Jackson in terms of running ability. I think it is pretty clear Johnson is a better runner of the two.
In three COLLEGE games last season Brennan had something like 10 yards rushing, total, even if you took out the loss of yardage on sacks. Johnson had near 100 yards total in two games.

I hear Myles is transferring to navy to run the option

He's not showing it this season. He's been a statue back there.
Watching Brennans film from last year, he's 10x ahead of Max with footwork and the ability to feel pressure and move up in the pocket.

Brennan clearly has the better arm and throws long balls much better and accurately (though their completion % is close to the same). Johnson hasn't run with the ball well this year, but he has averaged close to 2 ypc for all of his carries while Brennan has a O ypc average for all of his carries at LSU. Johnson clearly does better there (though his running was much more impactful last year when had close to 100 rushing yards in his two starts with 2 big TDs in the Ole Miss game).

I've seen nothing that really tells me Johnson is mobile. Can he pull it down and pick up a first down every once and a while? Sure, but that isn't what I think of when I think of mobile. I think of a guy that can fluidly move around the pocket, or extend plays with his legs, etc. Johnson hasn't really shown me he can do that effectively.
I guess that's a long ways of saying he may be mobile, but he lacks other skills to really utilize his mobility.

People Myles is and never was an option at QB. Look at his body type. Even now after 4 years he has no muscles. His body can not take SEC hits plus he is slow with feet speed. Burrow and Max have SEC bodies, can take hits, and can move around.

Why does this board think an RPO has anything to do with a quarterback's running abilities?

Mobile QBs shouldn’t have more rushes than yards.

Those teams by BM were the worse ive seen on defense in many years
